Great episode Daggerwin. I say diversify as much as you want. Just look at Jeremy Clarkson. Farming has changed, and likely no more than in your part of the world. Have fun and ignore the detractors. Oh and use 3rd person view as much as you want. It’s a beautiful map. Contracts are always fun……
some people don't realize it's just a game, if you don't like how he's playing, don't need to watch (not talking about you btw incase you thought I was)
Ireland has a good climate for olives. You can buy olive trees form a large number of garden centers here in Ireland. It's just that historically there was not a market for them. Plus they take few years before they produce a fruit. Also I seem to remember something about olive production in the UK on Countryfile some time back.
Now I know you had just bought the bucket for the JCB but would it make more sense to sell the JCB & New bucket and get a front loader attachment for say the John Deer or Class , that way you could see the placement of the tines on pallets & bales at least until you have the $$ to buy the telehandler that you would prefer... anyways great video as always.
A new Livestock Transporter MAN 19.403 mod appeared on modhub today that might even be better. It does 30 sheep but the price 90000 of the truck is way cheaper than the one you have.
Another idea for diversifying might be to get a greenhouse. Northern Ireland does produce and export flowers / small plants to the rest of the UK and Rep of Ireland. All small farms try to have as many income streams as possible.
One thing I noticr about you dag is you are very concious about viewer validation. It's understandable as yournviewers can br very hostile over something so simple they dislike. What i would say though is that even if your realistic series is super duper realistic, it wont be fun to watch if your enthusiasm isnt high as well. Do things that are fun for you, peioeitize that over validation of viewers. Remember, criticizers are more likepy to comment and show theor dissaproval than those actually enjoying. Those criticizing may only just be 5% of your viewerbase. Personally i love the truck purhcase and the idea of olives
Simple way to figure out if you could grow olive trees in Ireland, ask google, if it says yes, then its a yes, Here is the answer:- Do Olive Trees grow well in Ireland? Olive Trees grow very well in Ireland. Given the correct position in the garden, they will grow just as well here as in their native habitat. They will tolerate colder temperatures in Winter as long as they are not sitting in wet, clay-like soil. So stick to that and its still realistic. Love this series
There's a huge difference between an ornamental olive tree in a garden and a commercially viable crop. Olives are not farmed on the Island of Ireland regardless of the fact that B&Q will sell you one to put in a tub on the patio.
@@mccanntb but if an olive tree can be grown, then there is nothing stopping people from farming them, right?? might not be the best place to do it, but it would work. I think that was the point, but i could be wrong.
@cabbageplays6710 whilst the tree will grow in temperate climates it will not fruit unless the conditions are sufficiently warm and sunny (as in Mediterranean climate levels of warm and sunny) they will not fruit reliably. That's why I said "ornamental". If it were commercially viable on the North Antrim coast, someone would have done it.
This is supposed to be The " Realistic " series & if you were solo in real life you don't get an auto pilot drone ( even though they kinda do have those now ) for an above rear camera option. Which is why he's using it sparingly or in a time lapse.

Of course it is your channel and you can do what you want to (and I'll still watch), but, I don't understand why you get sonhung up on realism with regards to third person view and interactive control, but want to plant olives near Ballycastle, Co. Antrim. An apple orchard would be far more realistic and still something different to try out. The bees would love the apple blossom too.

Ok occasionally I think "that's not what I'd do" but I don't say so because it's up to you.
The olive trees you are thinking of using will cost you money you make no profit at all you need to put in around 100 trees just to brack even over 2 years or more you be better off with Oma Tana's olive tree
I think going to the machinery store is faster turning left out the farm gate than right. I also don't mind watching loading and unloading in 3rd person, I use it myself as even with a teleporter I can't see my tines
I’ve not tried it yet, but a mod was released last week for an electric bike. It’s still kinda expensive at £3750, but not as bad as that 18 grand dirt bike.

@@CaptainRex_CT-7567. that's not what dag means by win and lose. He means he cannot please every viewer, so he cannot win because someone will always be upset no matter what decision he does. Views are irrelevant
i think there should be an exception by porting yourself to the store to pick up left stuff there. because it takes so long to go back and leave something again.
If you are running a mod that requires you to have a male to breed with the females, I'd suggest moving any/all males to a small enclosure. That'd stop overcrowding and allow all the sheep to age/be worth more later
I guess it depends on what part of Ireland you are in as i would imagine on the south coast you could maybe grow olives but on the north coast you cant ,its like Southern England where you can grow grapes as it gets the nice weather from the gulf stream and they are also growing olives check out English olive oil. Just found this Daggerwin :- Can olives be grown in Ireland? Our climate is perfect for growing Olive trees as they are hardy to around -15C and can be grown in Ireland without a fleece to this temperature. In fact they need at least three months of the year at a cold temperature to flower and in turn fruit. So your olive tree idea is realistic.
I think you can ctrl+f for full lights, will make really better to drive at night on first person. But i not sure if its integrated with bettter lights mod
But it will be boring doing the regular things over and over again, we need something different sometimes to keep it interesting. Even though it's not typical for the erea

You are losing your ability to produce wool every time you sell adult sheep, sell the young ones first and then if you are over crowded del a few adults.
There is a mod where you can have apple trees, it would be more realistic than the olive trees
Omatana's mod as she has an appletree mod. It's on her YT channel
Peanut is doing an apple orchard on his latest series but it's only seasonal which makes sense

So your olive tree idea is realistic.
You lost money on the sheep as the health doesn't rise when you load a game , it takes 5-10 minutes to catch up
Why don't you have your sheep out in a field. That might improve your health and you can have a larger Heard
