@@kamilj85 Hello, at minute 36 the pristella maxillaris appears and what I think is the apistogram. I correct myself, it is not a Pristella, it is a Hyphessobrycon bentosi. They are very similar.
I agree with all the comments; even in a large tank this would be great, but in a moderately sized tank like this it is phantastic. Questions: is the tank covered ( hatchet fish ) and what species is the colourful dwarfcichlid ?
at the very end of the video you can see green cyano-bacteria on the roots which shows us that something is wrong here. I had a pretty similar setup in my 500l tank and had to quit everything after 1 or 2 years because of heavy and uncontrollable cyano-bacteria.
Actually, no one hatchet was lost in about 1,5 year existence of this aquarium. My experience is, that such dense layer of flowing plants, spreading on most of the water surface, efficiently prevent fish (even notorious jumpers, like hatchets and Pyrrhulina’s) from jumping out.
@@samueleperlo6381 thanks! I organized the roots to a bundle, using a plastic plate with holes above the water level (see image at the link ibb.co/3YFcM9w)

Well, dried dead leaves don't contain as much ammonia as people think. I've been using dead leaves for the past few years and don't have any spectacular ammonia changes by adding dead leaves. Neither do fresh leaves, though i'm always still carefull with those.
In fact, imho this is what all aquarium keepers should strive for: A natural environment for their fish.
to have a conductivity of 40 ppm, are both kh and gh very low? how do you keep the pH stable with very low kh

, +1..!
Its better then porn. Lol
I particularly like the accurate biotope, with the addition of a nicely integrated community of the proper fish.
When i worked at petco. I always advised for local biotope set ups. So far i haven't had one complaint. Fish live longer, looks better, saves money.
Awesome. Best tank so far!
One of the best set-up so far
Mega klimatyczne akwarium, hydrocotyle prowadzone po powierzchni dodaje naturalny charakter.

Very beautiful. I wonder if the fishes tune in to the sounds of nature.
this tank is amazing , one of my best bw tanks on yt... i wish to see it now.
Absolutely gorgeous blackwater biotope!

Im here to be inspired. I have a long way to go.
Beautiful... Only complaint is hearing a gibbon or siamang male singing ... Bring me down directly to southeast asia ;.)
This is a south American tank :)
Fantastic Job, very inspiring to watch.

There are fish that do not appear in the description right? I saw some pristella maxillaris out there.
Nature at his best... what substrate did you use and how thick is this layer?
Gulper catfish would love thay tank
Wow awesome !
realy amazing 🤗😍
Ein wirklich schönes Aquarium, da ich selber ein Schwarzwasser Aquarium plane kommt dieses hier als Vorbild in Frage.
superbe: quelles sont vos plantes. Normalement votre aquarium est rop petit pour les sacalaires
Wow this is my dream aquarium! Does anyone know where the info on this setup is?

My Rio Nanay angelfish (Peru altums) love eating roots of Limnobium or Pistia until they kill them all. :)

Yes, all the plant debris in this aquarium is real. The chosen leaves, pods etc. decay slowly and do not exude much ammonium at the moment.
