No fancy intros, no music, got right to it! Just bought my first baitcaster and you immediately explained that they are also known as conventional reels. You did not assume that the viewer knew this. Very clear, very straightforward. Excellent communication! Thanks. I feel more confident already about controlling backlash. 👌👍
I just started watching your videos and what I like most is that your videos aren't just about you catching big fish. You also try and give pointers to others that are trying to get better at what they love to do. Your awesome and I really enjoy your videos.
Thanks. Just went out and used my LW for the first time and birdsnested it. I knew that was a problem but didn't know how to avoid it until watching your video. Much appreciated.
Just inherited a bunch of this style of reels from my stepdad that passed. He taught me how to fish. I plan on using this to catch some big flatheads to make him proud.
Yeah, I know the feeling. The thing I learned about baitcast fishing is in order to prevent backlashes/bird nests, get the idea of DISTANCE out of your head and replace it with the word ACCURACY. When you cast the baitcaster pretend that you have a fly fishing rod in your hand and cast the baitcaster like you would a fly fishing rod. Birdsnest will be eliminated guaranteed!
I don't use my thumb to feather the spool, I only use my thumb to stop the spool when I get to where I want it or right when it hit the water, I set the backlash knob (CS rocket style numbered knob on my kastking R40) high enough that it doesn't backlash, it doesn't drop at all in free spool with a 1/4oz weightless fluke, and thats ok because I can still cast it 25yds give or take, and thats good enough for me, thats whats the knob is for, to get rid of backlash, so in reality we dont have to know how to cast or use our thumb, so if you're one of those guys like me that doesn't want to worry about the "drop" you just want to cast and no backlash then its ok to set it up like I do.
I run planer boards so the tension knobs are all set to almost zero tension so my boards can spool out. I also sling my baits as far as I can get em out when I deploy so gotta feather em or I would be constantly adjust them every time I cast and then again when I’m putting out boards.
Interesting, 🤔 Never played w one. But there again I ain't been fishing in this century! 😂 Blessings aboundant, Merry Christmas and a better new year's to come. Crawford out 🙏🏻🔥⚒️🧙🏼♂️
I run the clickers when I’m anchor fishing shallow and spread my rods all around the boat. Helps to hear the rods you can’t keep an eye on when you got a fish running.
@@KnightOfZero117The clicker is just an alarm mode of the reel. Whe you leave alone the reel trolling or with a live bait, in the moment of the strike of the fish, the clicker will tell you that is a fish on. Basically is a Reel Stand Alone Alarm!
I just got a bait catser just like that and everytime i pull the line out to where its tangled i reel it up and its very loose how do i fix that? And also when i tighten the little nob and try to cast it wont cast at all. Also the line was already in the bait caster when i got it also with the pole, should i get my own line and roll it up?
Loosen the knob, that is the breaks for the spool. If it’s loose and line pulls out easily when the reel is engaged you turn the star wheel that is by the reel handle

Thank brother👊. We need to do some split screen fishing soon!!
Your right they can be the easiest thing to use and the more you use the better it gets. You should have had jaxon cast one. On a smaller rod.
Thanks Chad. I should have had Jaxon cast one no doubt👍
Thank you for helping me you saved me
Glad to help brother👊

Hi great video thanks
Thanks for watching!
Some conventional have a clicker. When do you engaged them?

@@ElGatoAzulTV Is the clicker like the second drag on a bait runner?

Me too!! Lol
Hi I'm here to help your channel from polar bear chad
Thank you!!
Why is that tension there? Just more parts to fail. Let the rookies rook with birds nest. They’ll learn.
