You guys always suggest Tomlin should be fired. That he picks bad players and he hires bad staff, has horrible schemes, doesn’t prepare his players, can’t manage the clock and is nothing more than a player’s coach BUT somehow the Steelers remain relevant every year. Please explain how that’s possible for so long when he has nothing but trash to work with AND he’s a bad coach worthy of being fired. You can’t have both ways so which is it?? Is he a good coach who’s coaching up subpar talent to have consistently winning seasons OR does he have great players (that he chose according to you) but his coaching is bring down our yearly SB caliber team to be just a wildcard failure? Hint: just take a look at the QB’s he’s had to deal with over the last several years. Old Ben, old Russ, Fields, Pickett, Mason, my man Duck 🦆 and my personal favorite Mr. “Put me in coach and I’ll guarantee you at least 2 interceptions” Tribisky 😂😂😂. Yeah with that lineup Tomlin should be ashamed of himself with all of those winning seasons but no SB/playoff victories to show for it. I mean just about any basic a$$ coach would have been able to at least make it to the AFC championship game a few times with any one of those QB’s, right. 😐 You guys are funny.

Lets break it down. We haven't had a QB that can manage to be a reliable passing threat without throwing too many INT's since prime Big Ben. So we run the ball to manage and dominate the clock as best we can while our defense tries to stay off the field. We just haven't had a star RB since Bell. We haven't had the talent on offense to actually help our defense in anyway for like 6 or 7 years. Its not bad coaching when your hands are tied like this.

Oh they can run the ball but Tomlin takes the Norv Turner approach which is boom or bust. Bore your opponent to death with a boring predictable running offensive then throw ONE DEEP BALL... If it works the defense is on it's heels and Steeler's offense rolls. But it's so dependent on one downhill throw that if it misses or doesn't happen the team stays in first gear the rest of the game. Tomlin seems to hope the Def will bail them out. Tomlin's approaches is all heart with very little brains. And we never have a plan B. NEVER. It's certainly starting to seem like that to me...

There isn't even a team without Pickens this season. Idk if you've been paying attention, but we don't have anyone else. Our weapons are Warren RB, Pat Friermuth TE, and Pickens WR. Calvin Austin is an honorable mention, but his strongest production comes curtesy of Pickens being on the field as well. You take Pickens off this roster and you're gonna win 3 or 4 games in a season.

  • @greggorsag9787

Tomlin has clearly lost control of Pickens. And that makes me wonder what’s going on with the rest of the team (See DeShon Elliott’s post-game comments). Pickens’ stunt on Netflix was definitely a message. Even Mahomes and Kelce seemed confused. Pickens reminds me most of AB right now, but this had a bit more method to it than most of AB’s madness. it’s also true that he’s right: The Steelers organization clearly has little interest in competing for a ring, and is content to be just ok. For a man of Pickens’ talents, that’s not an organization you want to play for. He wants to be a star, like the two guys he was paying respects to. Not going to happen in PGH. I think Tomlin has pluses and minuses as a coach, but it’s time for new blood, regardless. Approaching the Cowboys’ situation. Once great, now silly.

They have to let him go. Everyone else was in the tunnel when he did that. If Justin Jefferson did that to Jamarr Chase and Joe Burrow, JJ would be gone. That's betrayal. He's a WR1 in a crowded room. Steelers will double-dip in the draft and replace his talents within 2-3 years or most likely, right after the '25 draft.

I love the fact they don't change HCs every few years but since Dan passed away Art doesn't seem 2 have that strong ability 2 approach Tomlin on his short comings and talk 2 him about parting ways. Tomlin has nor had post season success in over a decade now. He has over stayed his tenure and he needs a new challenge and the Steelers need a new voice and leader. These r the facts.

Pickens behavior aside, this team is wasting talent. AB left and got a ring on the Buccs, Juju with the Chiefs etc.. TJ still doesnt have a ring as great as he is, talents just getting wasted. If he was on another team who actually has some type of offensive competency he would’ve had one already. Idk if Pickens actually told them to come get him but i don’t even blame him the way things have been going. Even if he gets replaced itll be the same thing because of the coaching.

Maybe he doesn't want to become this team's Louis Lipps? The Steelers drafted Terry Bradshaw in 1970. The Steelers drafted Ben Roethlisberger in 2004. 34 years of using scrap yard quarterbacks before they threw a first round on another QB.
Russel Wilson isn't prime anymore and Justin Fields isn't the answer either. They'll keep being a ho hum team until someone decides to get a new quarterback and head coach. Being a cut above 500 seems fine with the Rooneys.

Pickins can hurt his team when he doesn’t get the ball enough. He does not like running decoy routes that are needed at times to draw the safety away for other receivers or tight ends. He can’t be the only passing target as every offense needs to have several pass target options. Wonder if he will realize that or not or wind up like so many WR divas.

Unless Pickens goes somewhere were hes treated like he's Justin Jefferson, he's going to be an issue for that team. He wants the ball almost every play, and when the play isn't designed for him he gives barely any effort or gives up early on the play. Until he realizes that he has to go 100% on every down regardless of if its for him or not AND that he has to stop getting visibly upset when the ball isn't thrown to him, he won't be a real top WR. He caused the INT against the Chiefs.

Anyone who watches the Steelers know exactly what they are going to do. Against the chiefs they ran the exact same running play 4 times in a row with 3 different guys. The Steelers are coached to survive they’re not coached to dominate. Since Tomlin took over the franchise has steadily lost what they’re known for a fearsome defense and a smashing type run game. Tomlin hasn’t been able to assemble a decent offensive line in years. Who can blame George for wanting out of that mediocre environment. There’s more but George is letting it be known
