At 14:11 ... at least one person who needed that pointing out, so thanks! (That's so much better than a simple 3" dash, huh?)
Ah, well you are very welcome!
Those smoke-grenade-looking models might help elites protect their operatives from long angle shots for long enough to reposition.
They might do for sure, we do seem to be entering an era in which everyone can take a smoke grenade.
11:20 We knew that already, but confirmation is nice.
Boo
3:22 Count as having repositioned does not say to me they’ll only have one AP after dropping. I expect drop -> Dash -> Shoot will be a thing.
Maybe? But if I have repositioned I have spent an AP? No? IDK. It's probably clear either way in the actual rules text which was not shown.
I’m very excited for this team!
Great to hear! Do you know yet how you plan on painting them?
@@TabletopImpulse haven’t got that far yet 👍 have you?
In 2 Para colours is the only possible correct answer. 😇
@@majortom7186 your on to something there!
In many of my games, most of my operatives are not useful right now. They are just a thread to my oppenend or I try to position them for TP2. And while doing so, I have to avoid risking them. And sometimes its the same in TP 2. In this phase of the game, its outright better to have those operatives in the air. The minimum for me would be 1 per drop marker at end of TP 1. Average might be 2 per drop marker.
That's a great way of looking at it Zar, and maybe you have a good point. But I still wonder how it will work in practice.
These seem like they will be interesting to play!
I would agree with interesting!
Initiative reroll is the best
Really? I just don't see it.
@@TabletopImpulse Initiative in TP 2 and TP 3 decides often about 1 operative living and 1 dying. So, its like you start with an operative more and your oponent with one less. This reroll gives you good boost for your chances. In average this should be huge
It does not say so, but I have been working on the assumption the the Drop Markers are deployed in your deployment zone.
See, now I really don't get it. Because that.. would be really bad, wouldn't it?
It had crossed my mind too, but yeah, it would be very weak.
Perhaps it's more like, place markers anywhere that is greater than 3/6" from opponents drop zone?
@@Lirretobbor wholly within your own territory
@@hugheja89 ah, yes. That's another good thought. Since the new edition gives them the option for 'territory' to be part of the core game from the beginning.
Well, if you have to place the drop markers in your dz... you can still move them up to 4” on tp 1, then deploy 3” (or even 4”) from the marker..: giving you a fairly unpredictable 7” move. Actually, this makes the most sense, otherwise it’s just an unstoppable alpha strike turn 1. This is especially true if the models in reserve aren’t tied to a particular drop marker. Talk about being able to flood the zone. Also, since you get to move one marker 4” again on tp 2, in a sense, you are moving models up the board while they’re completely safe from being shot or charged. This is going to be interesting.
2 days until new Hobby Challenge. FINALLY.
Are you quite excited then?
@@TabletopImpulseI know I am!
Raven Guard should get this, at the least
mmhm. I could see an elite version of this team themed around the Raven Guard, though so far GW haven't liked to do any chapter specific teams.
@@TabletopImpulse so would that be RG models using Aquilon rules or Aquilon models customized with some scout marine bits?
I wonder how those are gonna work in the gallowdark.
My guess would be they work exactly the same, you just have to abstract it a bit and imagine that they jumping down through ventilation ducts in the ceiling, kind of like in the trailer.
In a recent WarCom article they stated that the Scions can drop as normal, but the Vespid Fly becomes much less useful.
2:29 10 model or 10 model plus Pokémon with heavy bolter?
Unclear!
The term “firefight phase” worries me. It sounds almost like one of those alternating activations games where you take turns activating models for movement and then take turns activating for shooting.
Firefight phase is what it's called in the current edition
Yeah, Pbutch is correct, we already have the term firefight phase.
Wow, I may have known that three years ago, but I don’t remember it being common parlance, lately. The brain is the second thing to malfunction.
