Wow the texture of the track and cars in the light reflections is damn near perfect it doesnt look like a scaled down hot wheels themed game it looks like real hot wheels on real track pretty badass
This needs 3 more things: An upbeat soundtrack as you race Moving background assets to give a sense of scale Other power ups to give the race a bit more excitement Looks good though

I am both hyped and feel like it is missing something... watching this gameplay it looks amazing, kid dream, but feels a bit boring after the first seconds while all fighting in pack; the driving mechanics seem easy and so if you are just alone on the lead for the 70% of the race, could feel boring for some player bases. Maybe add some kind of comeback mechanics, to make it harder the further the first is from the pack, maybe making the tires burning reducing the friction or add some virtual walls to reduce the width of the road only for the driver who is to far, or mario kart inspired items wich would make external background elements interact with the cars: imagine the last player sending a dog cat or any pet from the first scene in the house to mess with the first driver, forcing him to dodge some areas in order to stay first, and adding some interesting interactions (imagine a bird outdoor or some structure elements falling from the roof at the hangar scene or even people stepping or the road) kind of difficulty progress or clutch mechanics to allow maybe big brothers to play with lil sisters or those situations were gap could be found Hyped overall :)
I guess this game really aimed to 8yo and younger kids hence the simple mechanic. I wish it have the similar mechanic like GTAV stunt races but I guess that would be frustrating for children.

I don't know whats more genius, the fact that this games graphics look almost identical to real life and that it appeals to every kids dream of racing their hotwheels around or the fact that the cars look exactly Identical to the ones you buy from stores. one thing I wish you could do in this game is scan hotwheels you have in real life and race with those.
This immediately reminds me of the Nintendo Micro Machines game with the gold cartridge. My favorite race was the one on the breakfast table. Cheerios for the track barriers and syrup to slow you down. Bath tub race with the boats...honorable mention.
