- Sergei Rachmaninoff - Piano concerto no.2 in C minor, Op.18 (arranged for two pianos)
Third movement: Allegro scherzando.
At its 1897 premiere, Rachmaninoff's first symphony, though now considered a significant achievement, was derided by contemporary critics. Compounded by problems in his personal life, Rachmaninoff fell into a depression that lasted for several years. His second piano concerto, composed between the autumn of 1900 and April 1901, confirmed his recovery from clinical depression and writer's block, cured only by a course of hypnotherapy. The concerto was dedicated to Nikolai Dahl, a physician who had done much to restore Rachmaninoff's self-confidence. [Source: Wikipedia]

Bravo to both you and Ms. Monastryski! I love the arrangement. It really feels like you are not missing out on a lot when the orchestra is replaced by the piano!
Thank you! Yes, it does feel like a complete piece, especially with such a great piano partner! Playing with orchestra is a totally different experience though. I wish I had that opportunity.
I appreciate your comment!
DAMN!! BRAVO FOR THE BOTH OF YOU!
Thanks! I'm happy you enjoyed it!
Bravo, bravo, bravo!
Truy tear-inducing performance from two excellent pianists. Just listened to all three movements, and I am truly impressed and moved.
You mentioned in a different comment that you wish you had the opportunity to play Rach 2 with an orchestra. If you ever do in the future, I would *love* to support you from the front row.
Until then, I'd love for a video with all three movements within it, if it's not too much to ask☺.
Thank you for your kind comment! Once I play with an orchestra, I will put the entire video on the channel :) Until then, this split-up version will have to suffice.
7:38 the best ever!!!
Truly beautiful. Congratulations to both of you on this magnificent rendition. Bravo.
Great job! I’m playing this concerto as well right now, with one of my teachers playing the orchestra part. Your accompanist did a great job also.
Thank you! It is a great piece. Challenging and very rewarding. Good luck with your performance!
