A third LSU player is in the portal. The freshman guard that was the 6th or 7th man. The COVID year has congested the portal but should clear after next year. It’s one thing to stack your team with talent but South Carolina has perfected unselfish team ball where 1 of 9 players could go off on any given night. You can’t game plan for that
Good job sir. 😊 Thank you for having footage and stats to back up what you are saying and not talking down about them but wishing them well. It is truly refreshing. Keep it up please. 👊🏽😁
Made it to the end - good content! Not surprised to see so many Big East players transferring (3 or 4?), with how UConn put it together this year and is primed to be LOADED next year. It will be interesting to see how Geno balances that roster with those five injuries set to come back and the non-graduating players that put it all together coming back.
Thanks! UCONN is terrifying, I don't blame them for clearing out of their way. I do wonder if all of that depth returning from injury next season would deter a potential transfer from wanting to go there instead of to a team with more of a need and a defined role for them.
Sad to see what is happening to Oregon State. Rueck is a great coach and doesn't deserve this. The reason his players are bailing out is because of the dissolution of the Pac-12. Oregon State is joining the WCC, which doesn't get anywhere near the national recognition of the major conferences. His players just want to be seen across the country to improve their chances of post college success.
I agree. Oregon State roster would have dominated the WCC. They had no seniors, solid players and good team chemistry. Beers and Gardiner were dogs in the paint! And yes, Coach Rueck is a good coach. Good luck Coach Rueck, you deserved better. I HATE what the big wigs are doing to the PAC 12. They destroyed a good conference. A lot of those schools are going to lose out of some really good athletes because of the idiots.
A lot of portal movement. I can't wait to see where all these ladies land, the excitement for next season is already upon us. Beers is also in the portal. OSU isn't gonna have a team next season lol
No mention of Kaitlyn Chen, one of the best players in the portal she'd be a grad transfer from Princeton. Chen would be an instant impact player, coached by Carla Burube an ex-UConn player.
IOWA Is Now Trash .They Had A One Trick Pony And That Pony Has Left Town .They Won't Be In The NCAA Next Year HVL Can See That .HVL Is A Future Porn Star. Just Watch.
Thanks for the sub! There was some mention of them eyeing Liatu King but I do know Legette - Jack is on record on being aggressive in the portal. Fair left a nice hole in the roster and a lot of shots that somebody for sure is going to want to come pick up. Perfect spot for somebody in a Van Lith or Deja Kelly situation
Also freshman guard Janae Kent from LSU is entering the transfer portal. Kim Mulkey didn't give all the freshman the same playing time, and HVL definitely didn't enjoy playing the point guard.
I’m new to watching women’s ncaa basketball, only the last couple years … but I’ve been a little shocked about this transfer portal. Is it normal for women’s to move so many good players? Or not normal. There’s a lot that have moved and may move. Are men’s the same? Not judging, genuinely curious
The portal is still relatively new (since 2018) and the NIL money even newer - and growing - so we're all learning the new normal in real time. In the cases of players leaving because of a coaching change, it does seem like it's a lot more extreme than usual but I guess once the portal closes we can compare this year's numbers to the past years', and to the mens' numbers.
@@micdewitt Deal is a '25 recruit so she won't help them this year. They are looking at one and done guards in the portal since they only have room for 1 player for 1 season - a scholly they held open for Clark in case she decided to return. First looks appear to be Olsen who you mentioned from Villanova and Maddie Scherr (one you missed) from Kentucky. Scherr was a former top 20 recruit from 2021. Incidentally, you asked about whether a team would want a soph or senior, in the case of Iowa, a soph isn't an option since their roster is projected to be full again in 2025.
@@davidcollins897 why did I think she reclassified? Maybe that wasn’t her. I know one headed to UNC did and I thought Deal did but, yeah…hopefully they land a good transfer.
@@micdewitt I won't swear she didn't reclassify, but it would be news to me. My guess is Bluder would prefer to have a veteran transfer for one year to spread out classes rather than bring in another freshman - they have I think four coming in this year already.
That’s a good question. We hear about coaches or organizations trying to “hide” players in the pros so that they can re-sign them for cheaper or so that they can highlight the player they plan on trading first, but they’re under contract so they can play those games. With the portal being so prevalent now that could backfire in college. If you mean just until later in the season though, yeah I could see that happening
Idk…I’m still tight about Tennessee not getting Rickea Jackson a little more of a team around her. They weren’t bad, it was just obvious against NC State that they had two “dogs” and Tenn had one
Yeah Princeton. So many ppl have tied her to UConn I’m not sure if that’s something she’s said behind the scenes or if it’s just a whole lot of UConn fans out here
@@micdewitt I have heard that there is mutual interest. She's a great shooter and ball handler. Given all of the injuries UCONN has had in the last few years, I wouldn't say know to her signing on.
@@micdewitt Good channel here. UConn's priority should be getting some bigs (Beers?), but that said, I wouldn't be sad if Chen goes to UConn either. With Nika and Ines leaving, that leaves KK and Paige as the only point guards. They need to injury-proof. Also, the Ivy League isn't letting players use their 5th year of eligibility, thus why Chen is transferring.
It all depends if you have a highly rated recruit coming in the following year. If you take the freshman over the junior you may lose the highly rated recruit.
I agree...BUT then I think about the fact that that player could always just transfer again, so then you have to consider taking the experience/leadership to win now with.
