@@dv-Dieno without a previous target on GY (coatl) you can't user beformet effect to revive the mirror you just pitched because the window for activation is at the same time as lubellion (you choose the chain order), and since at that point there was no target it cannot be activated
The play with aluber + sword doesn’t work as there isn’t a target available to even use beef before the discard (I know you can discard off lube, but as both can activate in either way in the chain, you need a target at the time of activation). The play works with coatl and aluber though

You can play around this and still do the same line if you have coatl since you pitch coatl for swordknight which means there would be legal target when beformet hits grave

@@Zdarkerx The Problem is Berfomet hits its trigger, when ist gets send to the graveyard as fusion material and if there is no legal target in the grave at that point you are not legaly allowed to use it's effect, even if you discard swordknight as cost for lubellion. That's unfortunatly how it is. Otherwise this line would be amazing, but it doesn't work that way.

Does anyone have any citations for the Aluber + Swordknight play being described here? I have been using this play for a while and I thought it was a legal activation (obviously, the reverse chain links would not be valid). I see a lot of debate in the comments and most of them are centered around SEGOC. It would be really helpful to have a citation for how this is ruled going forward since this video is easy to find compared to the specific ruling. Evidently, for this event, a head judge ruled it was a legal activation so there is precedence here.

I dont see why it would be - same if you go runic card while you got fountain - new chain ch1 hugin discard another runic, ch2 fountain target 2 (the initial one that summoned hugin and the discarded one from hugin)
