    As I was figuring out my hair care routine I began to notice that I have very sensitive skin. So I mainly use fragrance free products. Unfortunately there is not a large selection but it is getting better. In the past my skin reacted to all types of products, regular and clean. After this I noticed that it didn’t matter if the product was considered clean because some of the essential oils in clean products didn’t agree with me.

      The essential oils thing bothers me. Sometimes it's used in such high percentages that aren't really safe, especially when compared to conventional fragrance. But it's so irritating to skin and I'm surprised formulators don't take that into consideration.

    Thanks for sharing. I was never a fan of the "clean" term, as if you are dirty if you can't afford or find the clean products, which also plays into the guilt factor. A lot of the brands that I like would probably be considered "clean" but I also like some drugstore brands. I remember you mentioned recently that you are using Nizoral shampoo for dandruff and I also use that. It works really well for me so I'm not going to stop using it because someone thinks it's not clean. Ironically, it cleans my scalp really well, lol! I am trying to buy more cruelty free brands but even that can be difficult to find at good price points. I always appreciate your well-thought out videos and blog posts.

    I'm glad to hear what you are saying. I don't remember any fear mongering from you, but I appreciate your awareness on it. Fear mongering goes on for lots of situations, not just hair products. The last few years I
    have been hearing a lot of it, on supplements, on food, on religion, on politics, on medicines, and on vaccines. It's everywhere and it's hard for people to make rational decision with fear. Thanks for bringing this up.

    Oh my gosh! You have 2 or 3 cats? They are so cute! I've got 3 cats myself.
    Regarding the topic, I do feel like these brands are quite pricey. I think only Giovanni is cheaper and easily accessible. Like I bought Innersense stylers and their shampoo+conditioner but my bank balance really suffered. I don't know if I can buy it again even though I liked it. Curly hair products are regular use products so we need to repurchase them often. It has to ben affordable if it isn't a one time purchase.

    I use the Treluxe Curl Supreme Cream and the Eden Bodyworks Coconut Shea Curl Cream. One is $25.00 and the other is $9.99. They have similar ingredients but online curly hair influencers will only push the Treluxe curl cream and review it on their videos. Which is the $25.00 curl cream.

    The best conditioner for my hair is Suave Everlasting Sunshine...and a tiny bit of Ecoslay rice pudding leave in. A lot of the " clean" products are way too moisturizing for me.

    I feel some vegans are notorious for shaming others for not doing it thier way. So I definitely understand not wanting to have that all or nothing thinking to using “super clean”/natural products… or at that…being plant based. Great video!

    Some clean brands use unethical marketing just like conventional products too. No need to judge them all the same. It’s up to us to do the research on each products we want to use clean organic or conventional. It’s a very personal decision for everyone. Also clean products have come a long way and have all price points now.

    • @HolisticEnchilada
      @HolisticEnchilada  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh definitely! Conventional brands are not angels. It's just that some popular clean beauty brands and most influencers went this way. Like I said in the video, I still love clean beauty and a few of the good things the movement did for the beauty industry. I just and not solely focused on clean beauty anymore.
