I just started crocheting, and was looking for a set of sun moon and star pieces, so these are perfect! Also, I've never seen anybody change colors the way you do, that's so clever! Thank you for these!
i was looking for a cute sun granny square and none of them looked good...until i saw this! its perfect! i love it! i wrote it down so i can do this often! thank you so much for this beautiful, colorful, and unique pattern!!!
🤣🤣🤣 Right when you started and Toby attacked from nowhere made me bust out laughing! Though I do feel bad about your battle wounds from him. Another fantastic tutorial! 🧡
Hello, thanks to your videos I was able to make the moon, the star and the sun, I love how you explain very easy very easy to follow. Greetings from Costa Rica
Amazing tutorial! I dislike when they're not straight to the point and this was!!! I used more muted colours and it still looks great. Thank you so much. ❤
i just did and recounted each step in the sun, moon and star granny squares, and what i got is: 14stitches on each side of the moon and star, and 15 on the sun, which brings a total of 56 stitches around the star and moon, and 60 stitches around the sun granny square
I followed along with spare yarn which was white and blue and the sun shape looks just like a snow flake so you could make a Christmas pattern thought I would share
When you are adding the blue color, are you going into the back loop only of the rays? I love the square I have been practicing it, but want to make sure I’m doing it correctly. Thank you from Va Beach.
Love this tutorial it’s fully understandable however sometimes I end up with 9 rays instead of 8 and I’m not sure how. I’ve made 3 suns so far and only one of them has 8 rays
how would i alter the pattern so that my sun can go into a smaller square? i want it to match my other granny squares where the round part is 40 stitches and then i increase to a 44 stitch square, 11 stitches per side. i cant for the life of me figure it out !
My granny square didn't come out neat . Square was a bit slanted and when I addee the blue colour the rays became untidy . I made three and it happened everytime . Blue colour is to be added in back loop only of the yellow or what Im doung wrong ?
i was wondering... is it okay to use a smaller hook size?? would the size be drastically different from the star and moon granny squares in your page?? I can't seem to get comfortable with a 6mm hook, but I really want my granny squares to all be the same size!!!
i really love all three of the sun/moon/star granny squares - thank you for the tutorials! when you say they come out to the same stitch count along, my moons have come out with one less, 12 rather than the 13 the other two have, - is this correct or have i gone wrong somewhere? they are the same size as i used different hook sizes, but it just has been bugging me as i can’t see where i’ve gone wrong!
You’re correct, the moon has 12 stitches on each side and the sun and Star have 13. I just added an extra single crochet on the moon (an increase in one of the single crochet stitches in the second to last row) to make 13 stitches at the end. I’m making a blanket with all 3 granny squares and that’s how I got it to work. You’re not going crazy lol.
@@Mouses_Crochet_Corner that reassures me! i’m making a blanket too and ended up editing the stars and suns to be twelve along (although i’m not sure why as turning the moon to thirteen sounds much easier!) i ended up putting the project aside but your comment has encouraged me to return to it - thank you!
I’m thinking of changing the colors to make a Rapunzel granny square sweater. Great tutorial!
Great idea!!

Very nice! Now you got me anticipating what's next???? 😂
I’ll have to think about it, this one a viewer requested.
Thank you ,may you inform me how to make a blanket with the same design
A lot of squares sewn together

Yes I am!
@@KnottingHookCrochet thank you! I thought that was what I saw you do! Thank you for this beautiful sunshine, granny.
Thank yoouuuu, I think I will try to make it very soon
Hope you like it!
@@KnottingHookCrochet I’m sure I will
Love this tutorial it’s fully understandable however sometimes I end up with 9 rays instead of 8 and I’m not sure how. I’ve made 3 suns so far and only one of them has 8 rays
you either have too many stitches in the bright yellow part or your spacing is off when attaching the rays
how would i alter the pattern so that my sun can go into a smaller square? i want it to match my other granny squares where the round part is 40 stitches and then i increase to a 44 stitch square, 11 stitches per side. i cant for the life of me figure it out !
love it
Does this come out the same size as the star and moon granny square? I’m making a baby blanket and I need them the same size to join 😌
I think the stitch count is 1 off
My granny square didn't come out neat . Square was a bit slanted and when I addee the blue colour the rays became untidy . I made three and it happened everytime . Blue colour is to be added in back loop only of the yellow or what Im doung wrong ?
I did back loop. You will not get a perfectly straight edge on the rays.
I went to your shop to buy the sun pattern but can't find it 😞
I did not write one up for this
what are the measurements?
4“x4“ or is it larger?
Size will depend on the type of yarn you use , your hook size, and your tension. My squares are just under 5 inches.
i was wondering... is it okay to use a smaller hook size?? would the size be drastically different from the star and moon granny squares in your page?? I can't seem to get comfortable with a 6mm hook, but I really want my granny squares to all be the same size!!!
All you can do is try it see how it comes out.
I tried it and it came out alright!!! Thank you so much again for another amazing tutorial!! ^__^ @@KnottingHookCrochet

not sure, I'll have to dig out my squares and look at them.

how can i make this into a bucket hat
Look up videos on granny square bucket hats, see how they put them together and if the size of this square will work.
@@KnottingHookCrochet they might be too small ): is there a way i could make them bigger?
Just add extra rounds or thicker yarn and larger hook.@@diamond3170
Is there a written pattern as I saw you doin back stitch in rays , but you didn't so wanted to confirm .
no
