@cayrex I got perfectly in zinc ION video your ideas for the future, in a crowdfund I would definitely put some money, BTW we should talk about it separately!😉
My congratulations! 43 A is a lot of current for this little item. A few years ago I tried to build supercaps, but I failed to get conductive materials during the pandemy - so I gave up. In the end I can image your sucsess very well!
I hate it when people do this. Like a woman that is acting like she's willing, but is not :D Or some free energy device, but there is a special mystery black box on it, that you can't even buy.
@@mikebond6328 They're basically little whisker-like growths that can get long enough to touch the opposite electrode, creating cross-over and eventually shorten the lifespan of a rechargeable battery.
@mikebond6328 It's like a mini icicle that forms from the zinc. When they grow on the surface, it will puncture the separator and create a short circuit. Resulting to the fail of the battery.
The cell voltage is 1.8V. I dont know how much of the video you see, but in that video I am 100% focused into making a cell which will produce high current as possible. For the energy density of Zn ion hybrid cells you can get the data from internet or you can see one video back.
great things are discovered from experiments, and many times we will be very impressed with results..it fulfills the exploration. Although many of these tight physics examples scan be explained in depth if you choose to. Believe me I enjoy the instant grat of witnessing advanced energy storage using different carbon sources, I'd like to hear all about double layer zones and faraday reactions from the inner graphoil..etc . Please and thank you sir
Thanks. Yes it is called a multi layer pouch cell where are used multiply cathodes and anodes in parallel. The discharge rate is around 0.4V per 24 hours. But when the voltage go down to 1.2V the discharge slows down.
@@cayrex, are there complexing agents that can be added to lower the discharge rate to barest minimum? In this case, what is the the course of the high discharge rate; high internal resistance?
@@kazeem-mustapha Yes, something can be added to reduce the high rate of self discharge. But I don't know the exact agent in this case. Self discharge is not due to high internal resistance but as a result of internal reactions between components of the cell. It can also be due to using bad separator resulting to leakage. Wrong charging voltage and overcharging can also contribute.
well, which is more useful, a credit card or a same sized battery. cheers. multiple such double sided pocket cells in a battery box. yep the double sided cell structure is the best. and very simple to make. credit card sized phone, hmh. how about zinc or iron foil instead of the metal sheet. also how about foil style carbon fiber cloth with some graphite powder. put more of the cells in parallel to multiply the total charging current without needing the dendrite blocker. yep like in lead-acid battery. if you have multiple swappable zinc-acid batteries side by side, then it does not really matter if its slower to charge a battery. the fast mode is the super cap mode right? not the zinc-air mode. well super caps are expected to have kA outputs.
Yes the supercapacitors are rated in kA of output and some high power supercapacitors can go over 100kW. That Zn ion hybrid battey can go to around 25kA/kg which is also not bad.
@cayrex, Impressive but how hot does this battery get, could it explode?? Some devices are delicate and need the right volts and amps not to damage their components, should design the size, density, parallel and series shape into the right mix, this credit card design just seems a random and non useful battery dimensions and power ratios for most devices. Do you have a lithium version video of this same configuration for comparison??
@@troywhite6039 The battery can not explode because it have a water based electrolyte. A battery management electronic limits the power for the device. Carex we that love your channel can fund the expenses. Get the total cost to make the hybrid Zinc battery to start a car, then set up how to fund the cost. When the video is ready, send to those that pay directly. This is my personal opinion.
Bro idk why but when I see the name Cayrex I am always 50% skeptical, idk why, I may have it mixed up with another channel but your content has definitely improved over time, I will say. I think maybe an old video came across as dishonest, or I am thinking of another youtuber. I only say this stuff because a 10amp homemade battery is kind of a bit nuts my friend. but now I see, it is a result of using costly carbons and stuff. If u upgrade materials, you upgrade the whole battery. Of course. I do like this channel tbh. I just love batteries, almost as much as you Cayrex. Good work, thank you. Hey have you ever taken apart a supercapacitor, or used one for harddrives, I wonder what is inside of them.
No idea if you mixed up or not hahahha. It produces more that 10 amps and it can be made with cheaper materials as well. Yes yes,... I put several supercapacitors apart in the past.
