Panthers fan here. There are two truths that both exist at the same time: 1) This IS huge for Edmonton, to get on the board in the series with a whopping 8-1 game, and Florida should continue to worry about opening any doors for Oilers momentum. Indeed, Edmonton *has* been fighting harder in this final than people give credit for. 2) It is still only one win while being down 3. Edmonton will have to wrestle extremely hard if they're going to try and reverse it, which is not impossible, but just because you got one genuinely amazing win doesn't mean the series is over already, like so many would have us believe.
The reality is the panthers beat the oilers on a cold streak the first 3 games. Now the oilers are actually playing normally and this is the result. There’s a reason why every sports analyst picked oilers to win the cup this year, they are just the better team.
No one is saying the series is over. It will be over after the Oilers win the next three games, not one second earlier! The Oilers outed the Panthers - it takes a lot of heart to win the cup and the Pants don't have it.
the oilers are undefeated after losing 3 straight plus play fantastic with their backs against the wall & it shown this game. impossible could be possible.
Okay so full disclosure. I'm rooting for Florida. But thank goodness Edmonton made it interesting. The crowd was electric. All it means for me is more hockey.

The Panthers must be given lessons at the drama school. Their acting is superb. And the refs seem to be convinced. When Draisaitl hit Barkov the refs didn't call anything, but then Barkov went into the act he was taught , shed some big tears, and convinced the refs to change their minds and call a major. Same with the hit on Bennet - anyone hitting him should get a commendation, he acted like his leg was broken , all for the refs. Hopefully the refs will be better, and take a look at all the cheap stuff McDavid is forced to take. He is too smart, and wants to win too much , to retaliate.
The Oilers were flying in game 4, if they can continue this fire they can bring game 6 back to Edmonton this is the goal, provided they do not get intimated by the Florida fans and the refs do their job fairly.

Oilers have finally figured out that Bobrovsky is absolutely useless against wristshots. As for Bennett, that candy-ass primadonna was back before the penalty was half over. My god...this comment section would make me want to quit TH-cam, is there anyone here over the age of 12? I think it would have been a shame if the Oilers got swept, not just because they have so much talent, but because they've played so well in this series despite losing the first 3 games. Now they have a win to go along with the knowledge that they can outplay the Panthers. I hope this goes 7 games.
lets hope for the reverse sweep
Oilers have to win out but I think they can do it. I believe they have finally figured out the Panthers. What I saw tonight is when the Oilers frustrate the Panthers that feeds right into the Oilers game. What I also saw is to beat Bob crash the net all the Oilers did that in this game.
@@ryans413 Panthers wanted to hoist the cup at home, they tried to deny it but it showed in their play.
@@raymeus Well... they better get it done next game then. If they dont, and they get drug back to E-Town for game 6. There losing game 7 in front of their fans.
@@ryans413i dont think they figured out the cats. The cats hit two posts that could have changed this whole game early. Every panthers player threw the game away after bob was pulled the last few goals dont effect anything. Oilers change in gameplan was just lets cherry pick more to get more rushes and the panthers pinches were unorganized. I think its over in 5 max 6. But you never know.
Nurse only got 2 because Panthers have been trying to sell "Career ending injuries" every fucking time they get hit, and the refs are catching on. Bennett didn't even miss a shift, he walked down the tunnel when he heard there was a review to try and sell it further... oh but guess who made it out to participate in that powerplay. It's a miracle!! Bennett is healed in 30 seconds. Who woulda guessed that would happen???
Lol, Panthers are a joke, they don't deserve a cup.
nice break down of the game! 👍
Panthers deserve Oscar’s for that acting, Bennett deserves a rotten tomatoes trophy
Yep... Haven't lost by more than 4 all season, and all of a sudden they can win the cup and lose by 7.. All just a coincidence.... BS
we cant even make fun of football anymore with all the diving and pretending for calls.
As an Oilers fan, if any team can make a historic comeback it's the team that did it once this season already. Started from the bottom now we here.
❤oliers exploding ❤🎉
Bennets acting on that knee hit from nurse was as good of a performance as Brady Tkachuk playing sloth in goonies
Barkov and Bennett both act like they have been shot… fake
Too much pressure in the well. It had to blow. Funny. I turned the game off when the Oilers scored first because it just seemed like their night and I had other things to do. Saving it for game 5 which I have to imagine will be a little tighter. Florida did go down 2-1 to NY before slamming the door shut on that series. Bob did have five goal-against games against Tampa, Boston and New York and recovered just fine. I doubt anyone is pushing any panic buttons in Florida.
Never lost hope from the start. Just needed the boys to find the weakness in bobrovsky
It seemed like the Panthers didn't come to play last night.
nope, they want to win in their arena. it looked pretty obvious to me.
@@brent8207 Oilers have dominated most of this series, except for not being able to get past Bob the brick wall. 3rd period of game 3 they seemed to solve that.
@brent8207 so they flew all of their friends and family to Edm to lose on purpose? Ok.
@@milesmcstylez yes you are right, I actually think that the Panthers are exhausted. that's a long trip for them. I played hockey for 30 years and know that you can have a shitty game. its not that they didn't come to play on purpose.
Panthers better win the next game, If the Oilers drag them back to Edmonton its going to game 7. Anything could happen in game 7.
The reality is the panthers beat the oilers on a cold streak the first 3 games. Now the oilers are actually playing normally and this is the result. There’s a reason why every sports analyst picked oilers to win the cup this year, they are just the better team.
@@MrSeviper03 Panthers better fear the treatment they gave Boston last year in round 1.
No one is saying the series is over. It will be over after the Oilers win the next three games, not one second earlier! The Oilers outed the Panthers - it takes a lot of heart to win the cup and the Pants don't have it.
Oilers are going to make NHL history.
well how quickly the tides have turned. Bob gives up 5 gets chased, now the seed of doubt is planted. let's see how the Cats respond. for game five!!
First
Oilers in 7?
the oilers are undefeated after losing 3 straight plus play fantastic with their backs against the wall & it shown this game. impossible could be possible.
I started saying that Friday (the day before this game)
Okay so full disclosure. I'm rooting for Florida. But thank goodness Edmonton made it interesting. The crowd was electric. All it means for me is more hockey.
Came back to make In case anyone here hasn’t heard, The Florida Panthers defeated the Oilers 2-1 in game 7, capturing their first Stanley Cup and continuing Canada’s losing streak.
Bob just kissed the Conn Smythe goodbye!
So a gentleman’s sweep it is
Losing 2-1 I'd maybe buy that, but nothing gentlemanly about getting wrecked 8-1. Oilers absolutely demolished the Panthers
@@milesmcstylez You don’t win the cup in one game. first three showed who the better team is. Panthers will hoist the cup and Canada’s drought will continue. Maybe next year eh?
@travisescobar9920 first three showed that Bob can bail out his team when he's on fire. If he can't carry the panthers any longer then oilers in 7.

I think its gonna be panthers or oilers In 7
I’m thinking this goes 7 if the oilers win game 5 which will be the hardest one to win. If they do that oilers will win at home in 6 for sure. Game 5 is very important for the Oilers.
Lol panthers or Oilers in 7 are literally the only 2 choices
@@lasttry99 they're literally not. It might as well end in 5 or in 6.
lol Bennet wasn’t injured it was all a show to act like he got injured to try and get a 5 minute penalty. Notice how he came right back out and was fine lol give me a break. This game just showed how much they relied on BoB. As soon as he’s not in the net the Panthers look pedestrian.
Holy shit. I’m a panthers fan and I know the oilers will probably win game 5, so if they do, we’re fucked. Great job Panthers choking again 8-1 lost Bob sucks ass again lmfao
I have been an oilers fans like 1970's .. this will be going to game seven .oilers and panthers. Panthers got 3 . I was hoping they would find the weak spot. And they oilers will bring home they cup. .
Unfortunately it is too late for the OIlers ......although I wish it isn't. Go OIlers!
It's never too late
People said that last game and they are still in it. Believe a bit keep the hope alive.
Cats in 5. I expect then to have a big game. They have had games like this in this years playoffs twice and have answered big time in the next game.
And the oilers after losing three games in a row went 5-0, 16-0, 5-0. Going to be tough to win game 5 for the Oilers.. But if they do... and the Panthers get drug back to Edmonton.... See you for game 7.

Panthers fans are just delusional.
I have a feeling as a neutral fan that game 5 will be the most fun game to watch so far through this series
One game atta time. Oilers win next one and it could get interesting. That's the Oiler team l know. When they play like that not only is it fun to watch but shows you how they can beat anyone when they are clicking. Panthers probably win series but choke on this game all you anti Oiler fans..
I believe so many people were talking like it was over last game and I said in the comments here that they still have a game to play it ain’t over yet. Looks like I was right.
Lots of arrogant Panthers fans for sure. They've been shooting their mouths off all series long. They're a little bit quieter today.
Funniest thing is, Florida doesn't have fans in the regular season. They only have fans when they make it this far. Some "fans" they are. Only there at the end of the playoffs.
Also I recall a game in January, Oilers at Panthers. And the Panthers rink was absolutely PACKED with Edmonton fans. They were chanting "LET'S GO OILERS" full blast in Floridas rink.
Funny how that footage is completely wiped from the internet these days.
I believe there are alot of canuk, flame, and leaf fans that are jumping on the band wagon to diss the Oilers. Funny tho come Olympic time we all cheer for each other. Lol

This was a nearly perfect game and the biggest posterior punting by one team over another certainly in the series. Bob got chased from the net. Stolarz was "better" but it's like comparing toxic waste to trying to swim a deep lake filled with excrement while intoxicated, they're both bad it's just that one will kill you faster (you're guess as to which). Florida did get one goal (hence the nearly perfect) but other than that Stu made some great saves. The guys in front of him did a great job (double the blocks per NST. almost double the takeaways (though nearly double the giveaways), the PK was perfect, the PP Scored (on a 5 on 3). When Florida decided that the game was best played without the puck and by hitting and scrumming no one backed down. There were a couple of foolish penalties (the first one by Nurse less than 2 minutes into the period is coming to mind) but honestly it wasn't bad. Minutes played were a LOT more balanced. Take care all
lol Edmonton fans really think game 5 is going to be the exact same as game 4, now that’s delusional 😂

Huh? Game 1 looked exactly like this, except Bob played the game of his life and stopped everything. FL has looked really good in game 2 and in sections of game 3. The only reason the series isn't the exact opposite is because Skinner played below average and Bob played out of this world.

Watching game i just got feeling florida didn't even want to win this one. Energy lvl's clearly dropped, defending wasn't there. Mistakes happened. Feels like they wanted to go back to home and win there more than win in edmonton because of fans. That was free win for Oilers and huge boost their morale but then again florida didn't play for the win. Sadly that might be mistake of them or huge fail for oilers to think that they are back in the game for cup. But clearly they aren't
FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYYY
My god...this comment section would make me want to quit TH-cam, is there anyone here over the age of 12? Florida won 3 close ones, Edmonton won a blowout...Not one thing matters that has happened, all that matters is how the puck bounces once it's dropped Tuesday night. Who hits the post? Which way does the rebound bounce? Who pinches 1/2 second too soon and gets beat. All this talk about figuring Bob out and history and momentum is for those who never played sports and actually think players fake injuries. Hits happen. Shit hurts. You walk it off and then you are fine unless you aren't. Every athlete knows this, but anyone who never played anything other than playstation thinks it's all fake. I thought NFL comment sections were bad but holy hell, I have never seen anything like the garbage coming out of peoples mouths during this series. Grow up or go touch grass, some of you need an enema.
