Really lovely ……i am looking at some thing like these but built for the Quebec Canadian Climate …..maybe using above grade insulated slab …..the use of glass and merging spaces and opening up the rooms while preserving sanctuary is inspiring
@@SmartHouseTech yes - we have an old cabin on 5 acres in the Eastern Townships of QUEBEC - just north of Vermont. the land is mixed forest and on the side of a rocky hill - shale I think. We are looking at something about 1600 sq feet, simple rectangular, south facing and using mostly high quality floor to ceiling glass doors on 3 sides. ad we might try and avoid a basement and develop a passive house on stilts or an insulated slap. We aim to build in the next 2 years. your channel is very useful for us.
We get nice weather here from May to October but the ground freezes for 4 or 5 months over the Northern Winter - our new home will face south and have lots of glass to capture the winter sun
@@JNO_JNO Sounds amazing, such a gorgeous location. Agree that it is a great idea to let sun in in wintertime. My climate zone is similar to yours and it is great to feel sunshine indoors even outside is freezing cold. Only in summer some covering is necessary to avoid too much of the sun.
