I have the iPhone SE 2020 and I love the phone. It's definitely lacking on battery for an entire day especially considering my battery health is 84% because I picked it up used in just about perfect shape all besides the battery for like 80 bucks. Personally, the phone is fast enough and easy to carry around for me and 9/10 times I am near a charger or place to plug in of some sort so the battery doesn't kill me that badly especially because I like to carry around a portable charger anyways. The heat is sorta bad but I notice the same thing on my iPhone 13. I almost like the SE over the 13. I had the same issues with battery on my 13 as I do SE to the point where I also carry a portable charger around with the 13. I think the SE is a unbeatable phone for the price.
now i still use iphone se 2020 as my main device, this is because i am a student and i don't have much money. besides that I have a laptop and a computer to watch movies and play games. so iphone se is still okay for me
I ordered me an iPhone 2 that I’ll be getting by Thursday and it is an unlocked version to work with all major carriers as my returning the big 14 pro max that I don’t need anymore as I don’t need an expensive phone to make those monthly payments on, I like that the SE 2 have the home button and an Physical SIM Card slot
A nice portable charger would help that battery problem because that's what I did. That took care of my main and only problem other than that the phone is friggin great.
Screen dims come due to the sensor noticing a change in lighting, not from use. It’s still well worth it if you find it at the right price. Picking up a used one for £70 today
You have to look at a phone like this from a value perspective. Right now you can pick one up for $100 and sometimes cheaper. For that you get Apple's premium build quality, great speakers, Touch ID, wireless charging, updates for another 2-3 years, decent cameras and most all of the Apple features. Yes you get an outdated design and a smaller battery, but you won't find a $100 android phone that gives you close to a flagship experience on a budget price. I've had this phone a few times and I kept coming back for Touch ID and finding good deals on it.
You are absolutely right my friend. This was my first iPhone and after 2 days I realized I couldn't go back to Android so I stayed with it for about 3 years till God blessed me with the iPhone 11.

I think you mean the ambient light sensor try turning off auto brightness in settings

No, I always turn off auto brightness
It does dim from heat/using it i dont use auto brightness and while using it for gaming if it gets warm 50% to 100% brightness is the same
The SE 3 is the only choice for us 10%, who can’t use OLED, to get a NEW iPhone.
