Why would anybody be surprised when self indulgent narcissists turn a day of thanks into "Turkey Day" followed by "Black Friday" where people go storming into Walmart and beat each other to death over cheap Chinese junk that's still way overpriced even with the discount? I don't celebrate the holidays any longer, but I am thankful for being able to be with my family, that since 2020 have really not had our get togethers that I grew up being blessed with, that became "normal " to my upbringing that when it was taken from me it was a very good lesson. Although I'm in the UK and we don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I'm still thankful for so much. First and for most JESUS MY SAVIOUR, HOLY SPIRIT, MY FAITH, PRAYER, THE BIBLE and the fact that the LORD has revealed the TRUTH to me. I love TRUTH no matter what! Just yesterday I was listening to your Thanksgiving sermon, because I was listening to several sermons from that Audio-only playlist. I thank the Lord for your ministry. Blessings to you and your family.
Personally my issue with Thanksgiving is that it is a national holiday, and businesses close. And as a result, when I was homeless, I would normally go hungry on Thanksgiving because all food places were closed and the people I knew were too evil to feed me. Even befroe I was saved and homeless, my family's giving of thanks was profoundly superficial and contrived and coupled with abuse. If the holiday is founded in the Lord, amen, if not, it is a dead work of the flesh at best. Sadly, that is what I have seen the vast majority of the time. But spiritually speaking it can be a good reminder to be thankful to God. We who are saved, even in just that, have SO MUCH to be grateful for.

Good morning ☺️ I give thanks every day for what God has blessed me. I don’t subscribe to any national holidays, Christmas or Easter. I don’t subscribe to any political, religious or world systems. I live in this world, but I’m not part of it. I’ve been set apart. If everyone knew the truth behind thanksgiving, the massacre, murder and enslavement of the thousands of native Americans, maybe folks would think a little differently. Sure there was the fall harvest, which is something to be thankful for, but the rest of history has been hidden. I don’t mind gathering and having a nice meal to thank God for blessing our lives, but that’s it. Christmas and Easter are rooted in pagan tradition and I won’t have anything to do with them either. These are my convictions and I don’t judge others for celebrating what ever they like. I will however educate them on such matters. Have a fabulous and blessed day! 💕😊

@ show me where in scripture we are commanded to celebrate Christ’s birth? The pagans celebrate birthday’s. It’s all man made traditions of men and rooted in pagan idolatry. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Australia like they do in America. We never used to celebrate Halloween either but probably in the last 10yrs or so they've been pushing it harder and harder each year. My kids refuse to go into the shops during that time. Just goes to show people's priorities.
When I grew up I was the poorest kid at my school. I give thanks every day because I am thankful for so many things, like my children not being malnourished from poverty or spoiled like so many adult brats these days 😊

So... I got a story to share about my morning... got done with nightshift, bought some stuff that I needed, got out to the car, and loaded it up, got in, turned the key and... _click._ So I'm thinking "oh great..." apparently the battery was too weak to crank the car (it's like 17-18F out)... it was strong enough to crank it at 25-30 but not at 17, apparently. Thank God I work at Walmart, and they had the battery my car uses in stock, bought a battery and a set of wrenches... turns out the battery retaining clip has a long bolt, and this bolt is almost right up against the fuse box which means no wrenching. So, I go back into the store _again_ and get a socket screwdriver. I put that socket screwdriver on the bolt and twisted and twisted and twisted with all my strength, the stupid thing _just would not come loose._ I tried and tried and tried, working it back and forth, nothing. Stuck. My hands were getting red and starting to hurt from twisting on it and suddenly I'm like "God, I dunno what You want me to do here..." a couple more twists.. "C'mon God, help me out here" ... _pop_ it goes loose, instantly literally 2 seconds after I said that. Got the battery out, put the new one in, and the car roars to life. Still sore from carrying the batteries around and having so much trouble getting the stupid thing out tho. Ain't nobody gonna take my faith away from me, Ain't nobody that's gonna tell me God doesn't exist. This kind of stuff happens with me on regular basis, whenever I'm having trouble or something just isn't working right, I'll call out to Him and He will answer. EDIT: And yes, once I arrived home, I said a prayer thanking the Lord for His help. I don't ask God for stuff all that often.. I probably should more often, but whenever I do, I make sure I say a prayer of thanks afterward. I couldn't imagine _not_ thanking Him.

Hi Bryan, I have a recurring headache, strange pains in my neck. Can you pray for me? It's been going on for a while. I pray Jesus regularly, I keep the faith and I need him, I really need him. I think I've made a mistake. I believe in him, I firmly believe that he is the only begotten son of God, that he rose from the dead on the third day. I really need him and I think I've made a mistake. On top of that, I have recurring memory problems. Can you pray for me? I'd like to understand what's happening to me. I don't know where I stand anymore. I'm repentant and struggling.

I had thanksgiving with family. There were 16; people at the table We each said what we we're thankful for. I was the only one that said I was thankful for Jesus giving His life for me. We are few of the many. Just like the Lord said.
People are replacing thanksgivings with gratitude, they are not the same.

I give thanks every day for what God has blessed me.
I don’t subscribe to any national holidays, Christmas or Easter. I don’t subscribe to any political, religious or world systems. I live in this world, but I’m not part of it. I’ve been set apart.
If everyone knew the truth behind thanksgiving, the massacre, murder and enslavement of the thousands of native Americans, maybe folks would think a little differently. Sure there was the fall harvest, which is something to be thankful for, but the rest of history has been hidden.
I don’t mind gathering and having a nice meal to thank God for blessing our lives, but that’s it.
Christmas and Easter are rooted in pagan tradition and I won’t have anything to do with them either.
These are my convictions and I don’t judge others for celebrating what ever they like. I will however educate them on such matters.

@ nowhere in scripture does it say to celebrate Christ birth. Birthday celebration is pagan in origin. Do your research, be a Berean. Don’t take some pastors word for it. Doctrines of devils and traditions of men is strictly warned about all throughout the scriptures.

@ show me where in scripture we are commanded to celebrate Christ’s birth? The pagans celebrate birthday’s. It’s all man made traditions of men and rooted in pagan idolatry. Our God is a jealous God and wishes that we don’t worship Him the way the heathen worship there gods. Romans, Greeks, Babylonians celebrated there gods bdays on 12/25. We don’t learn from them.
@ I celebrate Him everyday! Birthdays are another pagan tradition. John in Revelation tell us to come out of her my people! Come out of all the pagan traditions and customs that have been passed down through the ages starting in Babylon through Persia, Greece and Rome! It’s the Roman Empire and Constantine who brought all this pagan crap into the church in the first place. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Australia like they do in America. We never used to celebrate Halloween either but probably in the last 10yrs or so they've been pushing it harder and harder each year. My kids refuse to go into the shops during that time. Just goes to show people's priorities.
When I grew up I was the poorest kid at my school. I give thanks every day because I am thankful for so many things, like my children not being malnourished from poverty or spoiled like so many adult brats these days 😊
Giving thanks while putting others down is a bit of a weird way to truly be thankful. Brats aside.

Wonderful message, Brother, and Happy Thanksgiving. Personally, Thanksgiving is the only holiday that I celebrate, anymore. It’s sad that it has been pushed out by Halloween and Christmas. Be blessed and safe.
So... I got a story to share about my morning... got done with nightshift, bought some stuff that I needed, got out to the car, and loaded it up, got in, turned the key and... _click._ So I'm thinking "oh great..." apparently the battery was too weak to crank the car (it's like 17-18F out)... it was strong enough to crank it at 25-30 but not at 17, apparently. Thank God I work at Walmart, and they had the battery my car uses in stock, bought a battery and a set of wrenches... turns out the battery retaining clip has a long bolt, and this bolt is almost right up against the fuse box which means no wrenching. So, I go back into the store _again_ and get a socket screwdriver. I put that socket screwdriver on the bolt and twisted and twisted and twisted with all my strength, the stupid thing _just would not come loose._ I tried and tried and tried, working it back and forth, nothing. Stuck. My hands were getting red and starting to hurt from twisting on it and suddenly I'm like "God, I dunno what You want me to do here..." a couple more twists.. "C'mon God, help me out here" ... _pop_ it goes loose, instantly literally 2 seconds after I said that. Got the battery out, put the new one in, and the car roars to life. Still sore from carrying the batteries around and having so much trouble getting the stupid thing out tho. Ain't nobody gonna take my faith away from me, Ain't nobody that's gonna tell me God doesn't exist. This kind of stuff happens with me on regular basis, whenever I'm having trouble or something just isn't working right, I'll call out to Him and He will answer.
EDIT: And yes, once I arrived home, I said a prayer thanking the Lord for His help. I don't ask God for stuff all that often.. I probably should more often, but whenever I do, I make sure I say a prayer of thanks afterward. I couldn't imagine _not_ thanking Him.

Today is -14F below zero .Fresh snow about 24" deep. No wind .The exact opposite of the hell we deserve! Could you even imagine how someone in hell would LOVE even 15 minutes of this day?There was saying in the 60s in America when I was growing up in the south to kids that were always saying "I want this and I want that".ie never satified.The reply from parents and even friends was "folks in hell want ice water and they don't get it' in other words SHUT up and be thankful to God for what you do have.

I have a recurring headache, strange pains in my neck. Can you pray for me? It's been going on for a while. I pray Jesus regularly, I keep the faith and I need him, I really need him. I think I've made a mistake. I believe in him, I firmly believe that he is the only begotten son of God, that he rose from the dead on the third day. I really need him and I think I've made a mistake. On top of that, I have recurring memory problems. Can you pray for me? I'd like to understand what's happening to me. I don't know where I stand anymore. I'm repentant and struggling.
