Can so relate! I only played until high school but in our country there were zero professional opportunities for women's basketball. Now there's a new pro league but there is such little visibility, and women's cbb still doesn't have good media coverage. Glad to see the tide turning even if it's not here yet ❤️
I've had a really rough week--had to go the ER for a cardiac arrythmia, and work has been busting my butt--and I just want to reiterate that your podcast has been my "comfort" podcast. Men and women are different. People with a male hormonal profile generally behave differently than people with a female hormonal profile. It's no secret that androgens, the primary sex hormones that fuel the male body, are positively correlated with aggression and impulsivity. And on a social level, men tend to have a culture amongst each other that rewards risk-taking and reckless behavior, which is susceptible to devolving into destruction and criminality when left unchecked. Of course, *not all men* are guilty of this poor behavior, but the poor-behaving ones aren't a negligible minority and male culture as it exists allows them to spread their toxicity with little pushback. Women have their own toxic gendered tendencies, but statistics show that criminality is not one of them (except when it comes to prostitution, which is an industry fueled and managed by male sexual depravity).
