Such an underrated player and band! The studio vintage definitely suits their style too now that they do a lot of the 70s prog stuff as well! He got a killer lead tone in the video 🤘🏼

@@AbhijeetSingh-ed3lw People love to toss that word around...yeah they are not underrated at all. Opeth were pioneers of extreme metal and known for having sick ass players and Fredrik has been around killing it in bands like Arch Enemy and Krux before he got the Opeth gig. Underrated? disagree 1000 percent.
@@therealeleusis Fredrik is still underrated IMO. He's probably one of the most interesting players in metal today and he barely gets mentioned compared to Tosin, Loomis, etc.

Does it really matter what he is playing through? Fredrik is a one bad ass MF’er! I’m sure a day does not pass that Michael is not thankful to have him in the band. Glad to see him get some well deserved attention!

Åkesson is one the most underrated guitar players in rock/metal. His ability is downright scary sometimes. And obviously Mikael isn’t going to have any scrubs in his band.

Start with Blackwater Park for there older stuff, new stuff probably pale communion. It’s all good there an amazing band definitely have there own sound going on
that opening riffs is from one of their song The Devils Orchard. if you dont like screaming or growling you should start from 2011 (Heritage) onwards.

Does anyone know what kind of fuzz pedal he's using in fron of the amp? it sounds like he's using some kind of a fuzz pedal.
when you crank a Super Lead all knobs on 10 and then add a clean boost it distorts the power section so much that it creates a fuzz effect. Just get any clean boost and try for yourself with this amp, the big ones do it too i have a 100w Plexi

@@Capitan_Chaos No. I bought a nice amp to use inside but it still doesn't really have that Black Sabbath sound that I am looking for. I have kind of given up on guitars. Every once in a while I get one out and tinker with it when I watch guitar tab videos but I never plug them in anymore. I dont really have the time for it anyway

When developing the Studio series we did extensive sonic testing on the speakers to find which suited this chassis and enclosure. We found that the 10" speaker sounded better in the smaller more portable format of the Studio amps.

I wouldn't knock until you try it. Can't speak for the Studio Vintage, but I've got my Studio Classic to sound huge, and the 10 inch speaker was a definite surprise, but a pleasant one.
That sounds terrible....compared to the tone on the album. My god...is it just me?!

Fredrik is a bad ass! However that tone is shit...i like fuzz but damn that just sounds like an amp with broken speaker cone. JCM 800 rules btw...nothing against Marshall!
