Thing is I don't really trust what Jesus done for me cause there are hell testimonies of people who professed to be Christian but they didn't fully submit to Jesus as Lord or they held on to certain things of the world. I get it but like it seems like God wants me to be homeless, bummy, lonely, poor, no fun or entertainment, just a life of praying to him, fasting and evangelizing. Don't know if I'm up for that so I guess my faith was in vain and I'm going to hell.
Yeah, I'd take those supposed "testimonials" with a grain of salt. Just walk with Him, and trust in Him. I know it's kinda easy to get taken off track but He's the only One we need. We do want to let Him work on us, though, so we can show forth His love to others.

When in Mark 1,15 the Lord said 'Repent and believe in the gospel', which is believed to have been His first public appearence, how at this point would it make sense if he indeed meant 'Change your mind from not believing the gospel ('what I did for you') to believing in the gospel'? I mean that was 3.5 years before the crucifiction??

BUT they were of course forgiven by God on account of His future sacrifice, which works throughout time, of which the sacrifices of animals were a foreshadowing. Every manmade religion, including the ones that claim Jesus as Lord (which is most of them, catholics, orthodox, lutherans, anglicans, armenians, calvinists, mormons, etc.), all preach works. Was it the wide gate that many go in that led to salvation? Or was it the narrow way that few find?
Bible also says a good faith bears the fruit of what you believe, shown by what you do through your actions so no, good works alone won’t save you, but a lack of “fruit” is usually a sign of the unsaved as well

Turning from sin, baptism, eucharist, etc. etc. etc. Anything they can do to minimize Christ and his work on the cross. There is nothing vague about the gospel. It is clear and simple. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, he died on the cross for our sins, was buried and rose again for our justification. If you place your trust in this then you are saved. Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. There are only two ways, works or grace and they are mutually exclusive. If you can't follow God's law perfectly then works is not an option. Which will it be for you? Works or grace?
