I just wanted to let you know I saw your reaction video to So Will I. Then I saw another video that said you are a former atheist. I was an atheist up until October. 13 years I turned my back, and at age 44, I answered God and submitted to him. As of 1-13-24, I was baptized. My wife daughter and son in law are next. They were never atheists, but they fell in love with God and his message.
Praise the Lord! Congratulations!
@@Holyspiritdriven__thank you
As a Christian and cutting out all metal and heavy rock, this song made me break down and cry. I prayed to learn to truly love christian music but was getting frustrated not truly loving it. Then I discovered this song recently and it wrecked me. I love that God listened to my prayer and answered me ❤️🙏🏻🙌🏻🔥👑✨️
I have come to find the lyrics in secular music are empty and full of pride. The Christian bands lyrics actually mean something. Check out Demon Hunter.
Me too. I for years was a head banging mohawk moshpit metal head. I'm now 65 years old and this band gave me Goose bumps.
Praise and Glory to our living God through Jesus Christ Amen 🙏
This band brings me home ( To Jesus ) and makes me want to weep and seek him out more to get close to Him , - nothing else has ever touched me or resonated so deeply - thank you HolyName - i love everything about this especially Tommys clean clear vocals and the bands obvious dedication - i think the imagery is just showing the difference between light and dark , it worried me a little at the start but the lyrics and deliverenc of their songs soon dispelled that notion
The image in the background is like an icon of Jesus in the middle of a circle and an angel on each side of the circle.
You can see the anointing and purity of heart in this band especially the lead singer. I dare say more than many of the CCM artist.
This band reaches a subculture that normally would not step into a church. And is very effective. It may not be for majority of people but is much needed for those who are in deep darkness. These guys are liget worshipers for sure. Spoken from in their early 60’s.
Amen! Bands like Holy Name and Demon Hunter speak to people through their music, connecting them to Christ when they may have otherwise felt isolated and alone in their feelings. God works through many different types of people, and many different types of music to reach into the hearts of his children.
For sure the imagery is linked to Tommy's recent exploration into Eastern Orthodoxy but the details I'm not sure of because I'm not familiar with Orthodoxy.
Aa far as the sound I guess they could be described as dark? But I would lean toward more heavy and powerful. The thing I love about Christian metal is it hits a characteristic of God that contemporary Christian worship can't. (not that it's a bad thing) Yes God is love and compassionate but he's also all mighty and all poweful and presented himself in fire and in thunderstorms. Metal hits that characteristic of God being powerful and mighty, it really brings out the strength of God
That's exactly how I feel when I listen to this song! Thanks for explaining it because a lot of family say that Christian music should never be metal but I disagree!
The entire album is great from start to finish. Tommy has some great interviews out on YT.
Leonardo: You should react to Holy Name’s “Fall on Your Knees” with Brian Welch (research his history) next!
I wanted to say I've been watching you this very day 1/2/24 and your reactions to Cory Asbury and others. And it was real great watching the Lord work and watching you become a christian.
The single Stained Glass was just released! Check it out!
Note: the imagery is derived from the Orthodox Christian Faith, every image and everything in the image is representative of something deeply biblical and taught through the teaching of the apostles… we have a deep holy tradition that stays true to holy scripture… hope you explore the Holy Orthodox Church! Glory to Jesus Christ! ☦️
Glory to God!
Amen Dave thank you for confirming

Eastern imagery in the background, or you can call it Byzantine or orthodox. It’s beautiful.
You need to check out for your holiday pleasure Tommee Profitt - The Birth of a King. Even if you don't react to it I believe you personally would love it. It has quickly elevated to one of my all time favorite Christmas albums.
I love these lyrics
I'm telling to check out "bloodlines- lotus" or "bloodlines- spiritual warfare". Or "windvent- restore or reveal".
Ruah by Bloodlines is also really good
React to Impending Doom - Satanic Panic! Impending Doom is a Christian death metal band! That song is INSANE!!!😇🤘🏾
I love their song Murderer and War Music

Great review. Check out Celestial by Holy Name.
Primero nos amo it's a really good song
The talk about the secret place is referring to the secret place with god. Going to meet him in prayer.
From the book of Jude vs
22 Be merciful to those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear-hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh
If the lyrical content is biblical. I won’t argue with it.
There are bands and ministries that walk on the very edge of spiritual reality.
They realize that is their position in the kingdom.
My 40+ years in the fire dept showed me that. Someone has to be willing to go all the way to the edge to save the lost and dying.
But anyone who is on the edge also needs to be very careful that they themselves don’t get caught up and destroyed by that edge of reality.
Rescuing people from fire 🔥 in the physical world is dangerous.
Rescuing people from spiritual fires is dangerous
Someone has to do it.

For me the darkness is the lives we exist in. All the words people speak, all the ideas people throw around can sometimes just feel like darkness because who can know all this stuff? I cried for like half an hour when I first heard this because all I want is to spend time with Jesus, fancy words and fancy ideas aside I just want to exist in the same place as Jesus and for Jesus to be there too.
Also, Mr. Millstone.
💃🙏
*OUR CREATOR GOD IS AND HAS BEEN TAKING "ROOM TEMPERATURE" OF ALL OF US AND MORE SO NOW BEFORE THE SECOND COMING OF HIS SON JESUS CHRIST FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!*
Actually this is a whole new band same lead singer but different band still amazing and sick though
Same guitarist on the left and the drummer is the same from Sleeping Giant. Source: drummer is my brother
Very interesting, i love the sound that ive been searching for as a Christian but it seems at the same time questionable. I guess ill have to pray about it. I love the sound though
Dont let one Christians opinion about a piece of content determine how you feel about it. Pursue what brings yuou closer to god. "For all things are lawful, but not all things are profitable"

what are you saying in the first second of the video

"I feel like those people in the back should be wearing white."
Some people have the choice of worshiping Him in darkness or not at all. Those figures in the back are the accusers, those figures in the back are you. And they worship despite those lurking, the Judges of sins already forgiven.
Why do i feel sick from the heavier parts? I feel this way with a lot of Christian metal, i LOVE the softer and mid level parts and some heavy parts, but then sometimes i go 'geeze this might have taken it to far' O don't know what to think about a lot of Christian metal, any thoughts?
Also I'm a little disturbed because, (this might just be me and how messed up my thoughts can be but,) this song is comparing your relationship with God to a husband and a wife which is a concept from within the bible. But I get a little creeped out that it's taken a tad bit too literal in some spiritual sense in this song. And it feels like when the heavy parts come in its supposed to be the Holy Spirit when you've met him in 'a secret place where only lovers go'. Why would it be so violent during that encounter. It gives me vibes like I'm being violated by the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit wouldn't be violent like that. Sorry to put a disturbing thought in your minds.
It weighs me down too. This band is not uplifting, passionate, joyful, like Tommy's band Sleeping Giant was.
I think Tommy wants to express the seriousness of the walk, but it feels to me like he's smothering his inner child.
I hope the band can press on through until they find a way that fills the soul.
I agree that the instrumental sound is dark and the images in the background are questionable. These lyrics sound like they are coming from a place of knowing the worship of the Lord in that secret place, which is what I love most. But, it looks like the lead singer has an anti-Christ cross on his jacket which I can't let go and get past. There's no darkness in the light.
Hey! I'm not sure I see the antichrist cross on his jacket. The drummer has an Orthodox cross on his bass drum, and the skull on the singers jacket kinda looks like it has a symbol on it, but I dont think its anything antichrist :)
Definitely nothing in the imagery is “anti-Christ.” All the imagery the band uses is Eastern Orthodox.
If you use your discernement and not focus on the images you’ll understand the core message of the lyrics; it’s a desperate prayer to Jesus to reach his presence in a moment of darkness when probabily others cannot be in the presence of God. So there is no anti-christianity in this band or song, just ask to God some discenrnement and if you don’t like the kind of music just don’t listen and play other band. The christian worship has a variety of band and songs and this is the beauty of the music that God creates in the world, you can choose the music you prefer but of course you need to use your discernement to understand if the music is for God or not.
There is nothing “antichrist” here. Living in a fallen world, many of us gravitate towards dark imagery and mortality. If Jesus can work through Holy Name’s music to bring his children in doubt to the light, put your trust in him!
Without darkness there can be no light
Evangelical Emperor Christ Jesus father god my king who is the lamb
Imo, the lyrics are nice, but the music itself is a drag.
I much prefer the SG songs.
I felt exactly the way you said, the guitars are dark and lyrics are light, very weird... I love metal and just stopped listening bands due to satanic lyrics...their background is too dark also whith i don't like much as you are talking about God it shouldn't have any skull etc
Do you react to Christian rap too or no?
