Looking at the comparison footage between this, running in UE4, and the original, running in UE3, i gotta say, Rocksteady did a phenomenal job with the graphics when they were using UE3. It was seriously ahead of time for even to this day.

The graphics are much clearer, and I thought that the AK graphics wouldn't be topped for years to come considering how they still hold up 6 years later

The lack of the UI and world geometry is because that stuff would need to be ported over. For the map that means rebuilding the city entirely since it's made up of small elements that are being placed and reused a lot of times to make up the buildings.
0:54 the Depth of Fields needs to be a lot stronger and better, bokeh, along with that, you should be MUCH more aggressive on bloom effects, exaggerated bloom used to contrast shadows and fill volumetric fog is what made Arkham Asylum and Knight look so distinct.

Yeah it's definitely a giant piece of work that rocksteady did there to make it look as good as it did, although the age of the underlying UE3 foundation definitely showed with the PC version at launch and still today (eg. the occasional streaming issues, even when running from an nvme drive).
Not gonna lie when I say that I did not think the game ran on UE3(granted a modified version but whatever), knowing that just makes me appreciate the game more
Wouldn't really look very different actually, none of the big additions could contribute anything in this scene setup as most of the new stuff really shines when it comes to big dynamic open worlds and environments. I should rather redo this cinematic with my custom Engine build actually, since I've replaced a bunch of the shitty stock post processing effects (bloom, lens flares) which sadly still seem the same in UE 5.

Then do a side by side comparision and you'll see that it has some drastic visual differences. I mean its no surprise it looks similar because I ripped the assets from the original game.
