I know the feeling, my favorite table at this park got stolen a month or two ago. Oh well! I have a small folding table in my truck for any time I need it. But yes, the knee boards are cool too! I’ve seen a lot of people use those. I’ve thought about getting one. 73! dit dit
Boy, I just slid in there to be #30... Beautiful sunrise! Yes, after I called you the first time you just disappeared. Granted the signal wasn't strong to me to begin with (I was pulling out all the tricks I know to dig you out of the noise), but then, poof, gone. And then you re-appeared. Funny, that. 30m is kind of a strange band - I've not quite figured it out yet. When I look at the POTA spot page, I like to guess if I'll be able to hear someone depending on their band and location before I even tune them in. I'm about 70% correct on 20m and about 90% correct on 40m. For 30m, I'm about 20% correct...
I was glad to get you in there this morning! It was strange, you were coming through quite strong for me but the skywave wizards have minds of their own!
Hi Larry, I like the AGC on the KX2. It’s quite configurable with settings for things like the threshold and speed. It may be my settings that you’re noticing. I personally don’t like an AGC to be too sensitive and cut the gain from someone tuning up nearby or a static crash while i’m copying a weak station. May I ask what you noticed? 73 dit dit
Thanks Larry! You’re right, it does overdrive with strong signals. I think it’s more an issue with the speaker being so small than the AGC allowing front end overload. It doesn’t do that with headphones. It’s not the best speaker, but at least the KX2 has an internal speaker unlike my Lab599 or Mountain Topper! It does the job. Hah.

@@w4arb Hello Aaron, It sounds like the volume is too high and overloading the speaker with strong signals. Not too bad though. I enjoy your video's.
