Too often we use stats to judge a player bc, let’s face it, that’s easier for fans who don’t see the players everyday or have the knowledge and experience of the coaching staff. But we really need JD to blow up the middle of the line and free up other guys to shine. If he can do that through game 17 and in the playoffs, the D will be in great shape.

Honestly, I ain't convinced about our defense, yet. BUT, having an experienced Defensive Coach stablished long before even the draft started, it prepares the players mentally ahead to what is coming. And last season, OUR defense, it felt like they was just not prepared for the LEAGUE.
On Huff as a run defender, Fangio basically said he just needs to do it more and get the "feel" for the skill. Obviously he has to work at it and there is no guarantee that someone will learn to do something well, so there is some concern, but Fangioo said he thinks he can do it.

Man everyone is hyping up jalen Carter but I thank Jordan Davis might have a big season. Cox is gone jalen Carter had a better season than him last year and the collapse. I feel like he really took this off-season serious and knows he has a big role this year. They both seem like they’ve been working on techniques and getting in really great shape. I’m hyped to see the two of them together hopefully they both have great seasons!
I am loving having Vic Fangio as the DC even though he doesn’t talk to the media often he keeps it real no b.c also loving the reporters of Moore including a lot of motion we have all the talent to win it all hopefully we don’t fall apart again.(please don’t let 80 be Paris Campbell number all season)
Huff gonna go from 40% of snaps to roughly 70% so it’s lot like he’s going to 90%, gonna have other guys step up too like Nolan and sweat will play similar snaps as last year around 75ish as welll. This is where the fun comes in for hunt to help out as a rookie but I also think we’re gonna get a increase from the interior for pass rush and linebackers will be blitzed more so I’m excited to see it play out

The highlight you kept showing of Smitty’s catch on the left sideline was a scramble. Isn’t this offense supposed to be about making plays within the offense?? Is he having trouble reading the D and falling back on old habits already, or is he not reading at all and just running the scramble drill like last year??

Nothing fangio said bothered me at all, i want him holding that entire defence accountable, regardless of hype or contract, and always put the best guy on the field. and the players love it too. We've needed a hardnose DC for years. Probably havent has this level of experience and toughness at DC since Jim Johnson (and dont freak out, im not saying his defence will be as good or comparable, just saying theyre both tough and expereinced coaches).
It looks like a lot of Eagles players have switched to the Axiom this year. Hurts, Saquon, Goedert, JC, and JD among them. To me, the helmet looks cool. And maybe Haason played a part in making it look cool for me lol. As far as Huff goes, I think the Eagles were fine with giving him $51 million because they know his floor is a situational pass-rusher who can get at least 8 sacks a year. And we all know how the team values its pass-rushers. For what it's worth though, Haason was never really the greatest in run support either. And I guess we should all pin Zack Baun as the breakout candidate on defense since Vic keeps bringing his name up unprompted. Speaking of Vic, I do find it interesting how he talked about having his OWN analytics process that he doesn't share with anyone, not even his assistant coaches. Perhaps that's why there's often a huge dropoff between Fangio and his disciples...they may know most of his fundamental teachings, and they often try to duplicate his style, but he still keeps a few secrets close to the vest.
I think Fangio is being reserved when speaking about certain players... but he definitely has a few favorites .... the ones he mentions first. But all in all we have great players all around they just need to buy into the system and perform..
