Both of Carmel's boys have been in Casualty and both have played gay men. The older one played an Iranian gay man who was seeking Asylum in England due to homophobia in Iran and spoke in a very convincing Iranian accent. The younger boy still plays a nurse in Casualty nowadays. He keeps his English accent and has moderately gay mannerisms unlike his more straight acting self in EastEnders.
