This is interesting! I'm a more recent convert. I came from 15 years of Atheism, where I strongly believed Christians were foolish, simplistic, easily impressed, and anti-science. I am happy to find out that there's plenty of intellectual Christians out there, and alot of Christians that are intrigued about the world around them, without compromising their beliefs! Thank you for this. God bless you!

@CafeteriaPizza I'm another ex-atheist. As a fairly new Christian, I quit my job in a research lab to go work for a local church. I felt I was 'wasting' my working hours doing something God had no interest in. I've been a Christian ~30 years, and now I have a much more nuanced view. The interaction of faith and science has remained a lifelong interest for me, and there are many excellent resources online although they may take some searching. I am very impressed with the balanced view taken in this video.

Jesus encouraged his followers to ask genuine questions and have discourse. Thomas is the example best used being that he doubted until he actually put his fingers into Jesus’ hands and felt his wounds so that he would believe. God will do anything he knows will allow you to believe but won’t force you, you have to reach out as well. I love the painting of Adam almost touching Gods hand in the Sistine chapel. Gods hand is outstretched to his limit, and Adams hand is outstretched but recoiling just enough to show that he’s not reaching completely to meet God all the way showing how we have to put in that final stretch to touch God.

Well an atheist can try to argue that "with enough time the molecules DNA & it's corresponding coded protein that creates the DNA could be formed Both at the same time so that all human life could form. If time was infinite, then then it's possible that the two-interdependent compounds DNA and it's corresponding dependent protein compound(and visa versa) can be formed at the same time." However I would argue that, this is based on the premise that time is infinite. Even, if atheists want to even base it on the premise that there was enough time for the molecules to happen, they would have to go against mathematical time models for these two interdependent compounds to form. Scientists have already calculated that the universe is only 15 Billion years old, and the necessary natural amount of time it would take to create the two compounds is 1.0 x 10^140 Billion years. Thus, somehow the creation of these two compounds have occurred Unnaturally Extremely Fast that Cannot be explained by Natural means. The only explanation for the rapid extreme creation of these two interdependent compounds is by Supernatural means. Thus, if you just go by Naturalistic probability, naturalism shows that it is more probable that God exists. 😯 According to mathematics at least, it takes more faith to not believe in a supernatural God, than it takes to believe in a supernatural God. Atheists are taking a leap of faith. Theistic scientists like Gregor Mendel are going by most probable evidence. For example, a study published in the journal Nature in 2007 estimated that the probability of randomly generating a simple protein from scratch is 1 in 10^77. The researchers then estimated that it would take about 10^55 billions years for this to occur through purely random processes, which is many orders of magnitude longer than the estimated age of the universe (15 billons years old) --- Douglas Axe, "Estimating the Prevalence of Protein Sequences Adopting Functional Enzyme Folds," Nature, Vol. 450, 2007, pp. 11-13.

If time were infinite and all the parts of a Rolex watch tumbled in a dryer forever, I still believe that they would never join together into a Rolex watch. Never, and yet they have a head start by being the finished parts to start with. The second law of thermodynamics teaches that a measure of randomness or disorder always increases. This means that it becomes increasingly less likely over time.

    • @DarrenGedye

I'm sorry to say that I totally disagree with you. When I was an atheist I wasn't taking a leap of faith, I simply chose the explanation that best fitted my experience. Then I had an experience that didn't fit my atheism, and I became a very surprised Christian! Some atheists like to strawman Christians, and sadly some Christians like to strawman atheists. I don't think either is helpful. I like the balance J Warner Wallace strikes by not strawman-ing either side.

      1) the parts of a rolex watch were not designed to self-assemble in a tumble dryer. (On the other hand my socks are brilliant at finding their way into my pillowcase while they are in the washing machine!😅) Is God able to design to design parts that self assemble?
      2) Saying there are X combinations so it will take X*T time to achieve assumes that you have to work your way through every possible combination before you get the right one. That is not how probability works. Sometimes you might get lucky and get it first try. If God knows everything in advance could God choose to create the particular universe that gets lucky? 3) the 2nd law of thermodynamics applies to closed systems. We 'break' the law every time we turn a pile of various ores into car. Except we don't really 'break' it, we take energy from somewhere else and put it into the system to achieve that. The second law of dynamics says that eventually we won't be able to do that anymore

To be fair, I think the community of Christian apologetics deserves *some* blame. In a way, they’ve created a situation similar to “the boy who cried wolf.” In this case, there have been SO many bad arguments “proving God” that, when actually-good arguments are presented, people have already been conditioned to expect disappointment and poor reasoning.
Also, the way that proponents of Christ-mediated universalism are treated by their fellow Christians is off putting to people on the outside

Modern Quantum Physics has shown that reality is based on probability:

A statistical impossibility is defined as “a probability that is so low as to not be worthy of mentioning. Sometimes it is quoted as 1/10^50 although the cutoff is inherently arbitrary. Although not truly impossible the probability is low enough so as to not bear mention in a Rational, Reasonable argument." The probability of finding one particular atom out of all of the atoms in the universe has been estimated to be 1/10^80. The probability of just one (1) functional 150 amino acid protein chain forming by chance is 1/10^164. It has been calculated that the probability of DNA forming by chance is 1/10^119,000. The probability of random chance protein-protein linkages in a cell is 1/10^79,000,000,000. Based on just these three cellular components, it would be far more Rational and Reasonable to conclude that the cell was not formed by un-directed random natural processes. Note: Abiogenesis Hypothesis posits that un-directed random natural processes, i.e. random chance formation, of molecules led to living organisms. Natural selection has no effect on individual atoms and molecules on the micro scale in a prebiotic environment. (*For reference, peptides/proteins can vary in size from 3 amino acid chains to 34,000 amino acid chains. Some scientists consider 300-400 amino acid protein chains to be the average size. There are 42,000,000 protein molecules in just one (1) simple cell, each protein requiring precise assembly. There are approx. 30,000,000,000,000 cells in the human body.)
Of all the physical laws and constants, just the Cosmological Constant alone is tuned to a level of 1/10^120; not to mention the fine-tuning of the Mass-Energy distribution of early universe which is 1/10^10^123. Therefore, in the fine-tuning argument, it would be more Rational and Reasonable to conclude that the multi-verse is not the correct answer. On the other hand, it has been scientifically proven numerous times that Consciousness does indeed collapse the wave function to cause information waves of probability/potentiality to become particle/matter with 1/1 probability. A rational and reasonable person could therefore conclude that the answer is consciousness.
A "Miracle" is considered to be an event with a probability of occurrence of 1/10^6. Abiogenesis, RNA World Hypothesis, and Multiverse would all far, far, far exceed any "Miracle". Yet, these extremely irrational and unreasonable hypotheses are what some of the world’s top scientists ‘must’ believe in because of a prior commitment to a strictly arbitrary, subjective, biased, narrow, limiting, materialistic ideology / worldview.

Every idea, number, concept, thought, theory, mathematical equation, abstraction, qualia, etc. existing within and expressed by anyone is "Immaterial" or "Non-material". The very idea or concept of "Materialism" is an immaterial entity and by it's own definition does not exist. Modern science seems to be stuck in archaic, subjective, biased, incomplete ideologies that have inadequately attempted to define the "nature of reality" or the "reality of nature" for millennia. A Paradigm Shift in ‘Science’ is needed for humanity to advance. A major part of this Science Paradigm Shift would be the formal acknowledgment by the scientific community of the existence of "Immaterial" or "Non-material" entities as verified and confirmed by observation of the universe and discoveries in Quantum Physics.)

AMEN fellow brothers and sisters in Christ our Lord and God bless brother J Warner Wallace's Apologetics ministry. I found him two years ago and I've been watching his Christ centered content since then. Atheism ain't got nothing new or better to offer than the very religious beliefs it's critical of so it's hypocrisy at it's finest 😂. Hello this is for all you Atheists, unbelievers and skeptics. I'm going to address a few misconceptions and lies about God's Character and His Word. The Bible doesn't support chattel slavery or anything else Immoral. Ok so Atheists and unbelievers say God is either Immoral, incompetent or not responsible so let's see what The Scriptures actually say. God revealed himself and created a nation in a real, historical context. It was a world with a slave-based economy, with city states often at war with each other, with polygamous marriages to ensure the continuation of family lines. The laws of the Old Testament regulate this behaviour. Slaves are to be treated humanely (Exodus 21:11). They are given rights and not seen as mere possessions. Hebrew slaves were able to buy their own freedom. Human trafficking is condemned (Exodus 21:16). In contrast to the law code of Babylon, Old Testament Israel was a light to the nations. The Old Testament law and narratives do not stand alone. Jesus is now the best example of what we read. So the moral teaching of the Bible cannot be summarised by a quote taken out of context from the Old Testament to demonize God and His Word. Slavery was permitted in Old Testament law but it was regulated by God giving the Israelites instructions on how to fairly and humanely treat their slaves (it was like indentured servitude where someone could work for you if they owed debts or needed income not cruel like chattel slavery). God allowed the people of Israel to own slaves since they themselves has already experienced over 400 years of generations of Egyptian slavery and knew how inhumane it was to be beaten, overworked and taxed so God set them apart from other nations and cultures around them by giving them a fair way to treat their slaves since slavery had already existed in the world but it doesn't mean God condoned it just used it for His Will to bring Good And in the light of the whole scriptural teaching, we find the reasons for its ultimate abolition (Ephesians 6:9; Colossians 4:1-3; Philemon 15-16 and Galatians 3:28). The Word of God provided the moral standard against slavery in the Roman Empire and against the slave trade in the New World.
But what of genocide or holy war in the book of Joshua? Several things could be pointed out. The use of warfare in the ancient world did not always mean literal total destruction, even when events are described in such terms. Furthermore, the book of Joshua does not describe a genocide. It is not a race who are being wiped out, as in genocide, but a religious practice which was often appalling and degrading. Those who repent (like Rahab from Jericho or Ruth) are not destroyed but become part of Israel. It is not the racial group that is in view but their "detestable practices".
However, after all is said, we must still acknowledge that God brought judgment on the nations of Canaan. It is not our place as believers isn't to sugar-coat the Bible. For some skeptics, this is enough to make God a moral monster. But the fact is that Jesus continued to affirm that God is a Judge who will bring a future judgment on all peoples and all nations. God’s judgment will be just. The list of Old Testament stories rejected by critics often leads to a similar dismissal of the New Testament teaching of Jesus on the existence of hell.
After all, what was the Flood of Genesis or the conquest of Joshua if not a glimpse of future judgment? Hell does not demonstrate cruelty on God’s part, but it does demonstrate His Holiness and our moral accountability. Perhaps this is the real reason many people rail against the God of the Bible? It is not that they think He is a moral monster, but that they are afraid He is a moral Judge, and that has implications for our behaviour now. God is an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being and we as His creatures have Eternal souls and spirits so the punishment for our sins against Him must therefore also be Eternal but so must the reward for righteousness that's why He sent His Son Jesus to live a perfectly righteous and sinless Life (which none of us could ever possibly expect to do) suffer the humiliating and torturous death of crucifixion to shed His Own Blood willingly so that all who willingly accept His gift of salvation by grace through faith in Him will be saved and given Eternal life because that's what God wants is for us to willingly accept His gift of salvation and choose life. Exodus 21:20-21 literally speaks about capital punishment befalling anyone who mistreats their slaves so yes people are taking Scripture out of context to demonize God who literally promises that slaves who are mistreated under someone else's authority is to be avenged. When we hear the word “slavery” we think of innocent human beings, kept prisoner for life, having no rights under law and so reduced to animals. This is clearly immoral because it is unjust: the slave has done nothing to deserve the treatment.
The situation described as “slavery” in the Bible was nothing like this. It is more accurately described as one of indentured servitude. Many “slaves” were indentured servants, working for a term of years
Some other “slaves” were prisoners. There were no prisons. Prisoners had to work to live like everyone else. Some had life sentences. Some served a term and were released.
People didn't beat their good slaves but treated them well and protected their assets thus.
But no matter how rebellious a slave was, you couldn't just beat them to death. And if you knocked out their tooth or damaged their eye then you had to set them free. (Exodus 21:26). God wasn't using what other nations did because He wanted to set His Chosen People of Israel apart from the cruel, inhumane and unjust systems other cultures had so He gave them a fair way to treat their slaves and servants.
There is a lot of ignorance on this topic which is understandable given the age we live in but it's not the nefarious set up we think of when we think of modern slavery. The question Atheists must ask themselves is how come the Jews aren't being accused of slavery and human trafficking if they're guilty of it in The Bible and why would white slave owners rip out pages from The Old and New Testament Scriptures to justify their owning blacks as slaves if The Bible already justified slavery?

Cold Case Christianity videos are great---very informative. Thank you ! In this video, Islam was given credit for its contribution. I would like to submit that Judaism should also be given credit for their contribution. Jesus was a Torah observervant Jew immersed in the culture of His time. Christians represent about 2.2 Billion (31.5%) and Muslims about 1.6 Billion (23.2%) of the world population. There are about 14 million Jews (0.2%). Jews received 30% of the Nobel prizes in medicine, 25% in physics, and 20% in chemistry. This extraordinary performance is the result of a culture profoundly committed to education----Judaism.

As reciprocating masses in space, the Earth revolves around the Sun, however as a dancing partner, the Sun in a long ellipse of it's own orbit will revolve all the way around the Earth over time, as both masses move along the Milky Way. So the Sun does in fact revolve around the Earth, but because the masses are so unequal the Earth is more easily observed as circling around the Sun . So both the Sun and the Earth ,and all the other planets in the same Solar System, do something like the Vienna Waltz, The lesser orb spins rapidly around the greater mass, but as they waltz around the great dance floor, the Sun will orbit the Earth , as they go all the way around the dance floor. "Theory of Relativity". ( Albert Einstein) So the idea of the Sun circling the Earth is just as true as the Earth revolving around the Sun. If both masses had been equal, then the two orbs would be seen as a BINARY SYSTEM. So if you think the Sun circles the Earth, you happen to be right.

This kind of left me with more questions than from what I had already been questioning, I don't really think that the fact that many Christians were scientists doesn't inherently mean that it was the work of god, at the time of many revolutionary scientific discoveries Christianity had already mostly dominated Europe, from book writers to peasants, everyone was a christian within those areas. Algebra was made by an Islamic man wasn't it? Algebra is used as a sort of basis for other scientific theories, but that doesn't mean that the laws of math are unique to only islams. Steven Hawkings and Albert Einstein are very important figures in science, yet they did not believe in a god. I also don't feel like the whole, 'We are intelligent and our world and universe are so advanced there has to be an intelligent creator behind it' or other arguments similiar to that manner are really good because wouldn't that imply that God, who is very sophisticated, incredibly intelligent and organized would have to be created from another more intelligent and organized being and that kore intelligent and organized being would also have a creator and so on which creates a never ending loop, and it also goes against the bible or the Christian belief of God was always there which cannot logically exist with the teleological argument. I want to believe in Jesus and God but it just feels sort of hard now with all these background thoughts that I'm having, maybe I'm just looking to deep into this or something but if anyone can rebuttal against my arguments, please tell me what you think

Hi! I had a couple responses to your comments. I hope you find them helpful in your intellectual pursuits.
*Steven Hawkings and Albert Einstein are very important figures in science, yet they did not believe in a god.*
Hawking did not believe in a specific or benevolent god. He considered himself an atheist, but also had times where he explained some of his writings (like his last book The Grand Design) as more figurative than literal. In an interview with Time, he said: _God is the name people give to the reason we are here. But I think that reason is the laws of physics rather than someone with whom one can have a personal relationship. An impersonal God._
Albert E was careful to not label himself an atheist despite what people think. He much like Hawking did not believe in a specific religion or a benevolent god. But he certainly believed that one existed and called it god or an unmoved mover. He often considered himself an agnostic or a 'religious nonbeliever.' You can actually find a number of quotes from Albert E where he notes how science shows the wonder and creation of god. He just never connected that god to the fates and actions of human beings.
In each case, they dont appear to rule out god. They mostly just seem to think the specifics of religion are not strong enough to justify the core tenants related to them. Many other scientists did connected the 2. And many had a huge and influential factor on the development of science. This i think is the main point of this video; God was instrumental to the advancement of science. Not because those scientists had to believe in God, but because God shaped their world view and how they want about scientific pursuits.
*wouldn't that imply that God, who is very sophisticated, incredibly intelligent and organized would have to be created from another more intelligent and organized being and that kore intelligent and organized being would also have a creator and so on which creates a never ending loop*
Yes that would be the case if it were true. We call this an infinite regress and its logically not possible. But in relation to your other comment after this:
*it also goes against the bible or the Christian belief of God was always there which cannot logically exist with the teleological argument*
I am confused by this. The teleological argument mainly shows there is a god due to the way in which creation is formed and the purpose we can find for all the aspects of our universe. Also, how so many of these items function in such specific perimeters and in such harmony both naturally and cosmologically. It doesnt really get into the idea of god being a created or not created being. its mainly focusing on the items of his creation.
For your concern about God always existing, you may want to turn to Kalam's Cosmological argument. Which generally is accepted as:
1 - Whatever begins to exist, has a cause of its existence (i.e. something has caused it to start existing).
2 - The universe began to exist. i.e., the temporal regress of events is finite.
3 - Therefore, the universe has a cause.
This works for our universe as we all began to exist based on all we know of science (the big bang). However, most point to god as something that never BEGAN to exist. He just always is. So he would not fall under this.
You basically have 2 options. Either something is eternal and created everything that is finite. Or everything is finite and somehow created itself with an infinite regress. The second option is not logical based on Kalam's argument or reason. So the first option must be true. And if that is such, God makes sense as always existing.
I hope this helps. If you want to discuss further, please let me know!

I’m in line with Feser and David Bentley Hart, that it’s a mistake to infer “God” from science. God isn’t a scientific hypothesis.
Rather, it’s correct to say that the early pioneers of science were inspired by their Christian theological convictions. I agree with that. If Christianity were true, then the world around us is intelligible and can be investigated

What really happened to Galileo Galilei? Without a doubt this scientist is one of the most famous in history and one of the brightest and most admired Minds from his time, however it is more relevant to ask the question is he more popular for his quarrels with the church or for being a great scientist Galileo is not just a symbol of science but also the religious persecution that was supposedly carried out by the Catholic Church against science however very few know what this persecution consisted of even though Galileo is considered to be the father of modern science he is particularly remembered for defending the position that the Earth revolves around the Sun a proposal that was not originally his but the Greek philosophers Aristarchus of Samos. Copernicus based his theory on these proposals as well Galileo's real contributions are not strongly remembered in popular imagination, perhaps because none of them blistered the church. The fictitious account by an enlightened storytelling portrays a terrible Catholic Church, through contrary to the Protestants, that stayed anchored in an obscurantist past and an anti-scientific persecution, something that does not explain why Galileo was a phenomenal Catholic. In addition it omits the fact that Protestants in general also did not accept the heliocentric proposal at the time and they would have punished him more severely if the shoe was on the other foot, and must also be kept in mind that Nicholas Copernicus himself was a clergyman that means the first person in the history of Christendom to promote that the Earth revolves around the Sun was a member of the Catholic Church.
Galileo put forward his views in favor of heliocentrism in the beginning of the 17th century and then an anonymous denunciation was received from the Inquisition which opened a process in 1615 because of this process, there came about a negative repercussion three books regarding heliocentrism were prohibited or suspended among them was the book that Copernicus had published more than 60 years before and now had to be corrected in order for the heliocentric theory to appear useful, only for calculations and as a hypothesis, not as a true statement, this is indicative that heliocentric co-existed with the Catholic World without ever having been declared a heresy, and other than being a mere lukewarm censorship.
No life was taken over it nor was there any torture carried out against anyone, furthermore a great number of clergies, especially Jesuits, used heliocentrism in their work and they firmly believed in it, Galileo was not informed of this inquisitorial process but one year later Pope Paul V reprimanded him to cease pushing the subject, Galileo unlike his colleagues who believed the same as him, continued to make noise regarding the topic, attracting a lot of attention and acting as a theologian, which angered specialists in the field.
Nevertheless, Galileo was revered by Society at the time and admired by members of the church, his main rivals being aristotelian-leaning professors, Galileo participated in debates on heliocentrism even with Pope Urban VII, who admired him so much so that they would exchange letters and they met on six different occasions at the Vatican, he even wrote him a poem in Latin titled “Pernicious Admiration” this new Pope's disposition emboldened Galileo to return to his old ways and write a piece in favor of heliocentrism by adding a new argument that the behavior of the tides would only be possible with heliocentrism, something which turned out to be false, Galileo was willing to do a lot to get his arguments on heliocentrism and more exposure, and he argued the most controversial details with the Pope.
When Galileo wrote his piece, he presented it before the teacher of the Sacred Palace in order to obtain approval before publishing it, this sensor also turned out to be an admirer of Galileo, he told him that with some modifications it could be published, however Galileo was unlucky because more tolerant times were diminishing within the context of the 30 Years War. Pope Urban VII was being
challenged by the Spanish Ambassador Gaspar Borgia, who accused them of not defending vehemently the Catholic faith in order to avoid more instability than it already existed the Pope took initiative with an Iron Fist and it impacted Galileo. Two months after Galileo's work reached Rome the pope sent the matter to the holy office.

    • @pasalasaga
      @pasalasaga ปีที่แล้ว

Galileo always believed that his rivals had poisoned the Pope's Mind by telling him that in his book he was making fun of the Pope's stance against heliocentrism, this is why he wrote to him explaining that this interpretation was not his intention, the problem is that Galileo's work consisted of a dialogue between characters in which the good guy of the story was one that defended heliocentrism and the other character that defended the Pope's favorite arguments was put to shame, this was interpreted by many as mockery, this was one of the reasons why months later Galileo was summoned before the holy office. Galileo was then reprimanded for defending heliocentrism and three theologians concluded that his stance was indeed in its defense, Galileo denied it and in doing so was seen as resisting to confess, what was self-evident. Nevertheless, the pope sent his nephew Cardinal Barbarini, who was also a friend of Galileo, to try to convince him to admit the charges and in doing so he would allege that it was not done in bad faith, this way if he were to be sentenced his sentence would be reduced to house arrest, in this way the Pope could show strength during war-stricken times without harming Galileo, who he admired.
Galileo himself knew that the threats of torture against him were false, it was never going to be carried out. Warnings were produced because it was part of the protocol to make him confess, the Roman
Inquisition never tortured older people advanced in age and Galileo was already
69 years old, Galileo falsely confessed that his vanity led him to do what he did and that he had no intention of violating the formal warning, that called on him to not talk about heliocentrism, those of the trial claim that Galileo had promised in the past not to push heliocentrism, but he denied the existence of such a commitment, and there existed no evidence other than the formal warning. When the Judgment was rendered he had to take back what he initially said in a humiliating way, notably here, he never declared the mythical line “Eppur si muove”, a challenge which would have caused many problems at the end of the day. The Pope didn't even sign the sentence of the Holy office, which did not give the document its final binding. The Cardinal Bellarmine who condemned Giordano Bruno at the stake, stated the following _“I say if there were a real proof that the sun is the center of the universe, and that the sun does not go around the earth, but the Earth around the Sun, then we should have to proceed with great circumspection in explaining passages of scripture which appeared to teach the contrary and we should rather have to say that we did not understand them than to declare an opinion to be false, which has proved to be true, I do not think there is any such proof since none has been shown to me.”_ the problem with Galileo's position, was that he energetically promoted a theory that put into question the traditional biblical interpretation while not having any way to empirically prove his propositions were true, he had good arguments but no evidence, an ambassador of Tuscany Francesco Nicolini was one of Galileo's main supporters.
Galileo spent the first days of his arrest in his Palace, then he marched off to Siena to stay in the Palace of his friend the Archbishop for a few months. Afterward, in his home on the outskirts of Florence, over there he continued working, and his last work was published in Layton Holland, a place where Sanctuary was provided for Protestants and Catholics who were persecuted and later on enlightened people who were accused of atheism. Elvira Roca tells us in her work imperiophobia and The Black Legend, that a survey from the European Council showed that 30% of the students believe that Galileo had been burned at the stake by the Inquisition, 97% said he was tortured, and almost 100% responded that he uttered the phrase “Eppur si muove”.

    • @pasalasaga
      @pasalasaga ปีที่แล้ว

      *3/3*
The enlightenment's mythology, superstition and obscurantism, drove the brilliant genius painter by the name of Francisco de Goya to portray Galileo being tortured, he was convinced that such an atrocity was actually committed and this conviction has continued to be accepted by millions of people all over the world until this day. Ironically enough, there are even a few priests who have graduated from the Seminary and still think that Galileo was burned at the stake, if the church has been such an enemy towards science as they say it is, because the enlightenment legend had to resort to falsifying the Galileo case, wouldn't there have been an overwhelming number of authentic cases to choose from? well no there is not, it is clear that the demonized version of this story has underlying motives, it makes absolutely no sense at all, that no one remembers, what happened to the famous Spanish’s doctor Miguel Servet, who was burned at the stake by Protestants, nor what happened to the outstanding chemist Antoine Lavoisier, who was guillotined by the first French Republic for having
been an official to the crown, the judicial president ruled that the revolution did not need neither scientist nor chemist. 27 intellectuals and scientists suffered similar Fates let alone the 25.000 witches burned in Protestant Germany, another detail to note is that while the Catholic world has renounced the acts of persecution of the inquisitions and has even restored Giordano Bruno's memory with a statue in Rome, the Protestant World remembers Miguel Servet with a lukewarm Monument with an inscription that says _"Respectful and acknowledging children of Calvin, our great reformer, but condemning an error, which was that of his century, and firmly attached to freedom of conscience according to the true principles of the Reformation and the Gospel, we have erected this expiatory monument on October XXVII, 1903."_ _"On October 27, 1553, Miguel Servet de Villanueva de Aragón, born on September 29, 1511, died at the stake in Champel."_ basically “it was a mistake by the great reformer Calvin”. Calvin along with Luther had been honored with a multitude of statues in several countries despite the persecutions and death they promoted. It would be the equivalent if Spain had erected numerous statues of Tomás de Torquemada with an inscription saying “Tomás de Torquemada, our grand Inquisitor made a mistake with the false converts.”. Everyone should remember that Galileo passed the last nine years of his life in palaces or in his home.
Galileo's case has been manipulated to raise an eternal conflict between church / religion with science, even though Galileo never saw himself as a Pioneer for this type of conflict, his problem was not with the Bible, but with The Interpreter stations that were being held. Without a doubt Galileo's reputation was the victim of an injustice by the church who belatedly restituted it in the time of John Paul II. Even though a mausoleum in his honor was erected in Florence during the 18th Century.
However his controversial case does not cease to be used as a weapon by certain Protestant and enlightened thinkers, if we want more clear-cut examples of religious intolerance we have more recent examples from the United States of America, with the trial of Professor Scopes in the 20s, a Catholic teacher who had the audacity to teach the theory of evolution in the state of the Protestant majority
Kentucky, there existed a law which expressly prohibited the education of evolutionism because it called into question creationism, he was arrested put on trial and convicted however he was not given a jail sentence as was requested by the prosecutor, but he was to pay a fine of one hundred dollars, which would be annulled only by technicality the law that forbade. Teaching evolution in Kentucky was not abolished until 1967. Until this day there are scientific pseudo-organizations and museums that promote creationism and reject evolution in the US, there is still a minority but considerable percentage of teachers who teach creationism as a feasible Theory, this happens in private centers since it is unconstitutional to teach this in public, ones public education cannot promote a specific religion according to the NCSE (National Center for Science Education) 45% of Americans believe in creationism and that the Earth was created ten thousand years ago, 56% of Protestants and up to 35
percent of Catholics too, it's surprising that any U.S Catholics would think so, given the church's continued defense for the correlation of faith and reason, even Saint John Paul II encouraged the validity of the evolution theory in the 90s, this acknowledgment provoked a Mississippi newspaper to publish that the Pope was senile. Before, an enemy who wanted to ruin you could put an anonymous complaint to the Inquisition. Today those enemies who want to censor you, organize amongst themselves and report you to TH-cam, or some social network in order to close your Channel or your account. We like to make ourselves feel better by believing that today science is above any Dogma but since Galileo's time the only thing to have changed is the type of consequences, nowadays any scientist who dares offend the “”“Sacred Scriptures””” of gender ideology or feminism may receive professional, personal and even criminal repercussions, presenting evidence that challenges the most “””holy””” political correctness, our scientific Community is still vulnerable to being compromised by ideologies.

Opportunities are limited too... ! ..Why choose to perish...??...in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ....beg God to give you one last chance to repent....🙏✝.. Amen...!

I have just bought your book person of interest. I really like that you take a fresh approach - I have shared a copy with a friend that has a background as a detective. I also really love the artwork! Is it your own?

I think the biggest issue facing the secular crowd today is the lack of understanding of the nature of God. It's too easy to imagine Christianity teaching that God is a literal bearded man in the sky sitting on a golden throne. The truth is that the Christian God is the essence of existence itself. It's the God of Spinoza (or the deist God) but personal and interactive with its creation. If we framed Christianity in a more cosmic and unfathomable light I think it would be much more appealing to the younger, secular generation.

The important thing is, it wasn't just the church that disagreed with Galileo. His fellow scientists also disagreed and testified against him.
