Wonderful as always. Can I just ask - obviously you have the red markings on the screen for reference. How do we remember where they are if we are just imagining they are there? Or would it help to photocopy the photo and physically put the reference lines on do you think?

To answer your question, it can definitely be a challenge to remember the reference lines when they're not physically there. One trick that might help is to practice visualizing the lines in your mind while looking at the photo. It takes some practice, but with time, you'll get better at it!

Yes! Do that, it will help tremendously. Print your reference to the same size as the finished drawing so you dont have to scale up or down. With a ruler you can create guide lines so the features line up exactly. You could also draw a grid over your reference and your paper (lightly enough to erase). Additionally, I think there's probably some tracing involved during the edits in this video to keep the drawing on track
3x speed would be pretty good for these I think. Would love if it if you show what pencil your using as well.

Thank you for your comment! The circle in the middle of the face and the straight lines on the eyes are part of a technique I use to ensure accuracy in my portraits. I'll be happy to explain it further!

How curious. He did not capture her likeness at all. I think the main flaw is that the model has a neutral to negative canthal shift and the artist made it positive. The eyes are also too low on the face in the drawing.
