If you get a chance, go read the back story about Kalitta Air on their home page. It was started (and owned) by Conrad 'Connie' Kalitta, a former NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) driver. It is an impressive and beautiful story. I am old enough to have been fortunate enough to see Mr. Kalitta actively race in the Top Fuel category in the NHRA. Connie actually got into the aviation industry as early as 1967. Also, his son Scott (who died in a tragic racing accident) and nephew, Doug (still racing), I got to see them both race as well. 😉😉 Of course, I LOVE the freighters. . . It's ALWAYS good to see the Queen B747!! 💕✈✈💕
@@Cargospotter Yeppers, I knew that too!! (about the call sign being 'Connie') Amazing family. I always got a pit pass at the NHRA events. That enabled you to get up 'close and personal' with the drag racers. So I have actually spoken to him as well as many other racers at the time. Every time I hear 'Connie' on ATC -- I listen to ANC and JFK a lot -- I think of him!! 😉😉
Thanks for sharing these gorgeous Connie girls with their classic racing stripes! And the Masked Marvel, too! They're getting a bit long in the tooth though, October 1989, July 1997, August 2005, February 1982, May 1993, and May 2009 (last 400F ever built?). That silver National with all the scars on her otherwise beautiful livery, and the former Supertanker (in Connie colors?), both October 1991, the other silver's August 1991, the whites are March 1994 and May 1992. Most of them are older than their FOs. Boeing just started the left wing of the final 748F, after which there will be no more. Switching to the Bigfoot when they run out of Queens? No more nose-loaders, that's going to be a big loss.
Kalitta's planes are always so immaculate. They really do take pride in what they do.

Hey, yes, I know the back story of Kalitta. The callsign in the air traffic control is "Connie" by the way. Definitly an amazing airline.
