    I enjoy the pond cleaning videos , it's sort of like watching hoarders , a place is ugly and messy , but after a good cleaning it becomes useful again .
    So glad you got all the work done and didn't get stuck !

    Thanks for explaining what caused the problems with the dam leaking - makes understanding why you have to do certain things when working on or building ponds..

    I'm always in awe of how that 250 handles those trees for you - powerful machine.

  • @Herbybandit

    An example of what you were explaining about the poplar tree roots. Here in GB someone had the bright idea of laying cable to every household in the country, everywhere the contractors disturbed the roots of trees, they died! Trees that is not the contractor 😂

    I had the opportunity to operate a Yanmar VT55 this weekend and I can say he makes this look so easy with a large machine. Every move like fluid movement. A joy to watch.

    My husband and I enjoy watching he can be very critical of big machine operator’s as his father taught him how to run them he will say you need to do this and then you do it shuts him up every time

    What a mess, that pond was about too expire.
    I like your approach you mentioned, to plug the dam.

    When we ran poplar through the sawmill ,the farmers would get us to saw it into planks so they could make farm gates out of it. And depending on where it was harvested from ,it would smell of stagnant swamp water .

  • @GARDENER42
    @GARDENER42 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Those poplar will weigh around 20% more than they would have a couple of months back - used to see it with beech here in the UK. Bark used to come off the sitka we were felling in the same way, all down to expansion of the cambium layer, which is where the tree cells transition into wood.

Had a laugh the other day, Stoney ridge farms revisited a skid steer tool for brush clearing the other day and was wondering what your opinion would have been used on your TL12V2 since it was barely functional on the bobcat he was using. One observation as someone connected with the Commercial Construction Industry... when folks are telling you should be using this or that piece of equipment...
