You can tell Pat’s not at his peak at this point but he was still so much better than the guys they’ve gotten to tour with them after he passed away. We miss you so much brother. Seeing you and the band at the Strand, Roxy, and Hollywood House of Blues were some of the greatest concerts of my life. Hoping to see you sing when I cross over to the other side
R.I.P. Pat.. It was very hard to see him not play guitar because his right arm was damaged in a fall. I wish I would have seen The Smithereens live... Pat had less then 11 months left on this earth when this was filmed. Very sad..
A shame, but Pat went out swinging. To think that Bon Jovi is in the Rock Hall of Fame and The Smithereens don't get a sniff. Real rock fans know music and Pat and the Smithereens delivered.
What strength Pat had...his right arm appears compromised..but his voice sounds great on this performance. The Smithereens were rock stars who didn't look or act like rock stars.

He definitely had some strong opinions about the Music Industry after being screwed over by them a number of times. So I'm thinking that his story had a lot of truth and emotion behind it. RIP Pat! Smithereens rank up there IMO as one of the great bands. I loved them then and love them now!

I was hanging with a relief pitcher for the WinstonSalem NC Class A minor league team, he had worked at Capital Records and had demo tape we used to Jam at the pool before the games.. we played it for some movie guys who hung at the bar, and when I saw the Movie I knew why the song was used at the bar scene .. now Pat, RIP, just cooperated that story ...

You never realize how important certain bands and the era they come out of are to the sound track of your life and that period the Smithereens are one such band.
23 year old voice. This was great music. After stayin' the weekend at North Beach San Diego I'd broken up with my engaged girlfriend, and on the way back this song came on the X. Seemed to fit. She changed her name from Stacy to Helene. Should have known right there.
Pat gave it everything he had to the very end which was at the end of the year of this show. This guy was in really bad shape, way worse than he was in this video. That was one FUCKING hilarious story. Thank you my fellow Jerseyite!!!!!!!!
In my Jersey boy opinion this is one of the two best mans to ever come out of New Jersey !!!! With the second one being Overkill not necessarily in that order Certainly not bon Jovi nor mr. Springsteen. Although Southside Johnny and the Asbury jukes are in the top five also. 😎😷
It seems to be touch and go with Pat. He fell on that right hand and nerve damage is no joke. The weather can play a part as well. One less guitar so they go with a keyboardist. It's still classic rock and roll.
