Using Montana Extreme, you better be outside. Hoppes #9 is much better and doesn't cause you to dang near pass out from the OVERPOWERING Ammonia smell. But the best is KG-1 followed by KG-12.

How do you properly clean the barrel on a Remington 7400 semi auto 308 rifle? Cant just remove the bolt to clean barrel same as bolt action rifle??🤔
You can remove the entire trigger and bolt assembly out the bottom. It's a big pain, that that I was I did when I had my old Model 742.
Bore snake with cotton patches will do you good most of the time.
Gotta run some oil down barrel as well to protect from corrosion
All you need is mineral spirits and mineral oil.
