He influenced all who came after him. Without Elvis music wouldn't be the same. He changed the music industry and the culture forever.
This was considered to be the first music video ever done. ❤
I love Elvis (and saw him live) but there were MANY earlier ‘music videos’ before this. Going all the way back to Al Jolson in the 1920s. I love Elvis, and Jolie, too.
Elvis is one of the best singers that has ever lived. He was also a fabulous entertainer. There is a reason he is called "The King". He had a great voice & could sing anything whether it was ballads, gospel or rock. He also acted in quite a few movies with great songs. "Jailhouse Rock" is considered one of the best (this is one of the first music videos).
Elvis had some of the best musicians that could rock out for the time!!!!🤘
The Greatest of All Time!! ❤❤❤❤❤!!!
Great production from the film Jailhouse Rock. The choreographer designed the number to match Elvis’ natural style.
The best entertainer ever. No one can compare today to his looks, fashion on abd and off stage, his voice and stage presence
Written by Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller, who wrote dozens of early rock hits. This is a scene where Elvis’ character is on a TV show, doing a producing number for the song. It’s a scene from a movie!
This is still Rock & Roll.
I think I was 12 when Elvis hit the UK airwaves. I loved him instantly. It was so new, so exciting, after the pap we'd been fed for years. We didn't get to see him though other than in movies. You're right about jail, and US jails are much worse than ours. I don't know about hidden meanings, this was just a movie!
Elvis the Pelvis😂😂😂😂22 years old.
My mother huge fan Elvis so i listning and saw all his movies 😅 love it
You should react to Elvis Presley's "Bosa Nova baby " song and dance clip from his movie 'Fun in Alcapolco ' he act, sings, dances, plays keyboard, and Bongos all at once. I never saw anyone that can movie like he does in Bosa Nova baby. I don't anyone else can do it like Elvis. This one is bound to be one of your favorite Elvis performances.✌️❤️
Written by Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller, once again.
This time period, where the "bad boy" was created with the long duck-tail hair-cut and leather jacket. Marlin Brando on his motorcycle, Jimmy Dean in " Rebel Without a Cause". Same time jazz and beat-niks and coffee bars evolved
Another who died to early!💜💜💜
This is now considered to be the first rock video. Elvis forever!
Loving this! Favorite Elvis song - Teddy Bear! 😊
Dude could dance his butt off!
I was 13 when this movie came out. girls would literally stand up and scream when he sang. He was earth shattering and the sexiest thing we ever saw. A beautiful man who loved his fans and his mother, what do you want man? thanks great reaction.
💙💙💙
Funny how nobody ever comments on how he slides off that table. Also, this scene is from a movie that shows being in prison is not fun. The song is meant as a parody.
Yes YOU ARE RIGHT. Its not about prison sex between men. People just didnt think in those terms in the 1950s in entertainment. Clearly the line about the "cutest jailbird I ever did you see" was between a man and a female inmate wordplay... which was wild enough because even thinking of sex or dancing in this era WERE OFF THE TABLE. But they were DEFINITELY insinuated and that's what made Elvis break through. His insane level charisma and charm, and rebellious actions and vibes were exactly what the youth revolution of the 1950s idolized. Young people were looking for an icon for their cause... against the status quo... and Elvis P was their ticket.
It's totally about two male prisoners liking each other. They didn't then and don't now house female and male prisoners together. If that line bothers you that is you prerogative but Elvis had no problem with the line written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.
@@patcuvie Elvis was for the people. He supported everyone. However, The song was not about two male prisoners. People in the 1950s weren't that literal and gay love was not a topic that would have been spoken about in a song, positive or negative. People didn’t EVER think about the concept of two people of the same sex being intimate. None the less in a song.
It was automatically assumed that this is a coed prison, and that Elvis is singing about a female prisoner.
@@depper “Automatically assumed” by you maybe, and other homophobic people. However, despite your assumption not only are the words of the song clear but the context is without question: (1) there was no such thing as a “coed prison” then or now; (2) Elvis was in an all-male, not coed, prison; (3) all the dancers in the Jailhouse Rock video are male; and (4) when Elvis introduces this song in the movie, which is not included in this video, he makes it clear he’s talking about an all- male prison, “Ladies and gentlemen, a little while back I had a kind of a vacation WITH A BUNCH OF MEN in a big place way out yonder.”
In the 50s Gay love- the term “Gay” was not used in the 50s- was not an openly discussed topic which is why no one thought, or cared, much about the lyric. However, the fact that heterosexual men in prisons engaged in sex with each other was well known. Like it or not, this is the first rock ‘n’ roll song with Gay overtones. Although some of Little Richard’s original lyrics may have had Gay overtones before he cleaned them up for mainstream America. www.ojp.gov/pdffiles1/nij/grants/216515.pdf
@@patcuvie Nice try. I am not homophobic. I AM a historian. Men got together to speak about girls ALL THE TIME. Class dismissed. Your assumptions are all inaccurate above.
@@depper You are confused. I made no assumptions, I only stated facts, i.e., the clear lyrics and context. You on the other hand relied solely on assumption, which is clearly not based on facts but your own prejudices.
Oh Fyi, Elvis didn't like being called Elvis the Pelvis...He says it about 5:50 or so on this interview link

Great reaction. Thank you.
WE❤U ELVIS!!!
You should see his 68 comeback version of this song. Really good . He's in Black leather gear. Maybe you've seen it. Thanks for your reactions. 😀
Since you suggested this might wouldn't be considered 'rock' nowadays - much of early 'rock' ('50s era) is considered 'rockabilly'.
I lived the 50's I was 13 when this movie came out. You have to realize this was a county jail back then men's and woman's jails were side by side with the common area separated by a wire fence. Often men talked to women by the fence. Believe me the two Jewish guys from New York that wrote the song never were referring to gay subjects. Believe it or not gender was not even talked about. I got married at 18 and my husband had to explain to me what homo ment. People know nothing about the straight laced 50's that was why Elvis was so earth shattering with the dance moves. The 50's was segregated and different from today. Everyone needs to watch "Elvis Presley and the Bob lack Community". Thanks
Zack, EP was the or one of the choreographer for this dance number.
Zack, if you watch the film, this scene is set when Elvis' s character (VInce Everett) is actually in jail, and the prisoners are putting on a show to be televised to the outside world. Vince's cellmate is a country and western singer was supposed to have a spot, but they dumped him at the last minute in favour of Vince. He is really cheesed off, because he has been encouraging Vince to sing while in jail! You should try and find the movie, it is a classic of its time now.
Nope. He was out when this scene was ‘on’ TV.
@@coollady2179 Ah yes....shows how long it is since I watched this movie! Anyway, I hope Zack reads this and watches it
Peanut butter banana fried
I would love to se Angelina sing jailhouse rock. She would naiv it and funny to see.
It's a movie, not real life, if you hadn't noticed.
Forest Gump ruined Elvis' dance for me 🤣🤣🤣
Not a video, you need to watch the movie "Jailhouse Rock".
It's not a comedy. Watch the movie. It's a scene from the movie. It's not a video.
