Best video you've ever made 100% You filmed everything, nothing was left out, perfect 👌👌👌 its much more interesting to watch you try and fail, then to hear about it after the fact! Now you can revisit this and do it much better!
Future reference use Ca glue and accelerator spray to instantly adhere / tack the outer edge perimeter of the new cover after you silicone it and set it on the housing
I have not, there are a lot of things that are illegal when it comes to modding a car but where im at if you aren't being dumb, chances are you're fine
I can’t wait to see your channel grow, and really pop off! I’ve been watching since the beginning, lotus gang hangs, when you had the jeep, and the scooter days! I remember the video when you didn’t have an air filter for the loud ass scooter, so you duct taped a car filter on it 😂 Love the content, keep going Fitz!
You could have used 2mm acrylic clear perspex sheet and heat formed it over the original lens would have been clear and not been fragile and blurry like the way you done it sky light plastic.
I have used a hot knife to cut plastic things many times. A butane bottle burning a flame to keep knife near red hot and push it through on your cut line. Goes fast.
Also no one has yet too offer the most important answer with these clear tail mods and actually show the brake light clarity !? A working brake light after the mod . The next goal should be too get the red brake lights to shine ✨ extra bright . It seems even using led bulbs arent enough with this type of material imo
Always loved clear tails
A lot of people hate the look but I hate red lights on a blue car type shit
So I’m definitely gonna try this for my Impreza
I agree dude good luck with yours i hope they come out well!
@@dfitzwm it actually came out pretty good.
Vht 2000 grit sandpaper and polish made it turn out nice
so glad to see the timelapse, and hear that chill music again. so relaxing
for real dude they are actually pretty cool as long as I dont over use them
Recommend using a hair dryer/heat gun to warm the cover material, would help it bend in shape better to eliminate gaps 👍👍
That’s the best way to do it, 🙌🔥
hell yeah, i tried this but I heated it too fast and it warped
Best video you've ever made 100%

hell yeah chase I am glad you liked it, I definitely tried really hard on this one and so far it is paying off!
um fitz this is the best video in terms of filming that youve ever made!!!!
proud of you
Im glad you think so, thanks
Lol I searched on google "how to make clear taillights" and this video shows up. Literally the same car as I have. Thats awesome
hah yeah ive noticed this is the first thing that pops up which is awesome. funny its the same car too
What temperature would you recommend leaving the tails at while in the oven & for how long?
I dont remember to be honest start at like 300 deg and check them every so often
Future reference use Ca glue and accelerator spray to instantly adhere / tack the outer edge perimeter of the new cover after you silicone it and set it on the housing
ah this is very smart I hope it goes to good use!
I’m gonna try and do this w/my silver Z3!!
good luck it was not easy
fun watching you figure out how to get your results.
yeah its really tricky!
dude this vid was hectic the edit and song choice was on POINT !
been waiting for this one
hell yeah me too hahah
Fitz I love all your videos
i appreciate it bro
That was a badass idea but do you think that we can only just weld the taillights? With the plastic welder machine?
I appreciate it, Probably could although I haven’t tried.
Thanx for the awwwsome vid!
Thanks best of luck if you end up trying!
Hey like do u think that those tails can be waterproof and all that?
not in the way I did it but with more patience yeah
dude i've been searching for this shit for a long time thank u a lot
youre welcome man i hope yours turn out well
Great Video but I would‘ve loved to see the clear tails in action like brake lights on, turn signals and reverse light
youre right, i can in the future
Aye have you’ve gotten a ticket using these? I heard it’s not DOT approved or is illegal.
I have not, there are a lot of things that are illegal when it comes to modding a car but where im at if you aren't being dumb, chances are you're fine
Did this with my e30s tails. It definitely takes a couple attempts to get it perfect
oh yeah i can see a remake of them when I have the time!
hell yeah another video
hell yeae
proper way of making clears
yeah this is the OG way
They look pretty good!
I just hope this can give other people a good starting point

thakns man, youve been around for a fat minute ima keep it goin, thank man!
You could have used 2mm acrylic clear perspex sheet and heat formed it over the original lens would have been clear and not been fragile and blurry like the way you done it sky light plastic.
i have no idea what that is, this is the first time I'm hearing about it. Sounds like a much better alternative to what I used
Loving the content, keep it up, I can't get enough
thanks man, tons more miata content in the future
Killing it, love the diy videos
thanks man!!
I have used a hot knife to cut plastic things many times. A butane bottle burning a flame to keep knife near red hot and push it through on your cut line. Goes fast.
noted, I will for sure try this in the future if i make these again!
It'd look much better if you cut that material to fit inside the original clear lense, and then putting that back on
dude thats actually a fire idea I hope someone tries it
aye whats the name of that clear material that u find in ur garage? nice vid btw
link below not sure what its called
love the content brodie. how have these been holding up??
thank you man. I sold the car a while ago but they were okay. Second time around would've definitely been much higher quality
imma use the same material, i like that’s it’s got a pattern
same man better would be a flatter tail
Also no one has yet too offer the most important answer with these clear tail mods and actually show the brake light clarity !? A working brake light after the mod .
The next goal should be too get the red brake lights to shine ✨ extra bright . It seems even using led bulbs arent enough with this type of material imo
I think a red LED bulb would be just fine in most cases IMO but you are right
Question if u are to take out the red pieces or orange pieces of a tailight would led lights do the same job ?
i am not sure what you're asking tbh
I’m gonna try this on my e46
send it man, good luck!
This helped me sm thanks dude⚡️
youre welcome dude enjoy
keep it coming, loving every one of the videos!
I will man thank you
What if you bent the lens over the edge of the tail light so it looks more smooth
oh absolutely but you just have to find a material that does that
@@dfitzwm with enough heat I’m sure an acrylic sheet would fold over
Great video 💯💯 I'm trying it on my e36 next
aye thanks man I hope it was a good starting place for you!
YOOO I FOUND YOU I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
LETS GOOO THANKS MAN!!!!
They came out great! Great video as always Fitz!
the second or third ones might be a little better lmao and thank you, congrats on 2k
@@dfitzwm There’s always for improvement lolol, but thank you!!!
So sick!
thanks man!
THANK YOU
YW
dope!!!!
thank you!!!
keep it up man!!
I will for sure
sheesh i need me some clears
everyone does
Any updates on the glue has it hold ?
It has actually. I went back the next day on the light and filled in the gaps but I’ve run it on the car since then!
@@dfitzwm nice I’m thinking of doing the clear but wasn’t sure which glue to use
hell yea
thanks mane
Amazing video dude :)
thanks homie
Kip Dynamite?
lmao
Oof, I'm not sure I would have shown anyone this publicly. It'll be a good blunderyears moment later in life though :)
haha its just a baseline for others to improve upon
Can someone tell me if this is illegal to drive like this in cali?
most likely yes I would bet my car
I got rear ended and replaced my tails and just realized the cracked ones can be cleared😩
ah man nooo haha well now you know for next time
Solid
thanks
ah yes..... miata things
hell yeah
Tuff 😤
thanks man!
for the little gaps after glueing the lens, what did you do? im about to move on to glueing the lens together!
i used the silicone stuff to fill in the gaps
I feel like you saw this on JackultraMotives videos???
no
That meterial name plz..?
I dont remember, use siri or shazam or something
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
yayay good luck
da drip
lmao yes car drip
You can add a bezel to make it look more clean
facts what should i have added
Use a heat gun to help mold the lense
thanks
Put it under water and cut it with scissors
that sounds much better
🔥🤝🤘🏾
I think I’ve seen people use a heat gun to kinda mold that plastic light thing you used
I tried to do this but i heated it up too fast and it warped the lens
Use lexan/polycarbonate to make the lens, it would be unbreakable
noted man I will for sure look into it
Fucking disgusting,
poor miata.
Yes, it does look horrible...
not horrible but not good
fkn ratchet wtf
yeah kinda but you try it this was hard !
Might have to try this w the genesis because mine are like $500 just to get clears 🥲
oof thats expensive but try this with patience if you do it
