Horrible misleading headline. What is wrong with you? Tony says he died of cancer, and it is likely there was spread. Your headline makes it sound like a reveal of some other cause. Is this who you are? For shame.
Wow ,that's interesting and fantastic stuff.I at 60 and i fell in love with Bowie at 15 .I feel like his almost part my DNA .There's not one song I don't love. Was blessed to have seen him live in concert ,twice .After he passed I had my first and only tattoo at 56 years age Simple says .Bowie .
'Tis Pity She Was A Whore' had a home demo that was pretty close to the finished track. I can't imagine it was the only home demo and everything else is just written lyrics and rough ideas.
It was working with Eno on the 'Berlin Trilogy' (Low, Heroes & Lodger) that altered his writing practice. Eno's approach was to use the studio as the creative environment and not simply the place where the artist recorded a finished product.
@@Alun49 He forgot to write lyrics for several songs on Low & Heroes . I felt cheated. I ended up with one album's worth of songs when I bought 2 albums.
Yeah, you REALLY need to edit the title. Brilliant interview with a brilliant man, Bowie's "working on the fly" is a much more positive , respectful, and accurate header.
🎶My death waits like an old rou So confident I'll go his way Whistle to him and the passing time My death waits like a bible truth At the funeral of my youth Weep loud for that and the passing time My death waits like a witch at night As surely as our love is bright Let's not think about the passing time But whatever lies behind the door There is nothing much to do Angel or devil, I don't care For in front of that door, there is you My death waits like a beggar blind Who sees the world through an unlit mind Throw him a dime for the passing time My death waits there between your thighs Your cool fingers will close my eyes Let's not think of that and the passing time My death waits to allow my friends A few good times before it ends So let's drink to that and the passing time But whatever lies behind the door There is nothing much to do Angel or devil, I don't care For in front of that door, there is you My death waits there among the leaves In magicians' mysterious sleeves Rabbits and dogs and the passing time My death waits there among the flowers Where the blackest shadow, blackest shadow cowers Let's pick lilacs for the passing time My death waits there in a double bed Sails of oblivion at my head So pull up the sheets against the passing time But whatever lies behind the door There is nothing much to do Angel or devil, I don't care For in front of that door, there is you 🎶 - Bowie 👩🎤
Someone should ask Tony how he thinks David would feel about these never ending 'tribute' shows playing his music. I doubt he'd be pleased, personally.
When visconte says that boy never wrote lyrics until the last moment and then the lady says could you get the bits of music that boy left and makes something of them it just shows you how little she knows about anything musically
It’s a little misleading to say David Bowie is the biggest selling vinyl artist of the 21 century, because other artists had much larger sales for all time sales . Bowie track record during his career was not as spectacular as so many other artists at the time, out of 61 singles only 5 made it to number one , of the 26 albums he made only five made it to number one. The reason his sales have climbed since his death is the marketing team behind his back catalog has repackaged his music every year since his death, making big fans buy the same albums again and again. David was a brilliant businessman and he had planned what a lot of these re packages would be . Like Elvis Bowie has sold more music in death than he did in life , like in art we tend to love artists after they are gone. I still love him , but I have always loved him.
I would be interested to know if db called Suzi Fussey, the wife of Mick Ronson. And Angie. (On second thought, I’m sure if he had called Angie we all would know by now. LOL)

TRUE!
I agree, there is a number of things about this interview I don’t like
like Viscontin is lying? @@rogerd3051
A garbage headline by garbage radio station.

Thanks for this. Interesting to hear that Bowie tended to develop his songs in the studio and not ahead of time as is the norm.
'Tis Pity She Was A Whore' had a home demo that was pretty close to the finished track.

Watch Donny McCaslin videos about Blackstar. Pretty sure he talks about the songs that were pre-written and those which were developed in the studio.
It was working with Eno on the 'Berlin Trilogy' (Low, Heroes & Lodger) that altered his writing practice. Eno's approach was to use the studio as the creative environment and not simply the place where the artist recorded a finished product.
You didn't know already?

Horrible tactless clickbait title that speaks very badly of you

Miss Bowie 😥
Typical media headline, trying to make a story out of nothing.
Bit of a misleading title. Always great to hear from TV.
hard to believe his decades of chain smoking did not contribut to our beloved mr bowie's demise.
🎶My death waits like an old rou
So confident I'll go his way
Whistle to him and the passing time
My death waits like a bible truth
At the funeral of my youth
Weep loud for that and the passing time
My death waits like a witch at night
As surely as our love is bright
Let's not think about the passing time
But whatever lies behind the door
There is nothing much to do
Angel or devil, I don't care
For in front of that door, there is you
My death waits like a beggar blind
Who sees the world through an unlit mind
Throw him a dime for the passing time
My death waits there between your thighs
Your cool fingers will close my eyes
Let's not think of that and the passing time
My death waits to allow my friends
A few good times before it ends
So let's drink to that and the passing time
But whatever lies behind the door
There is nothing much to do
Angel or devil, I don't care
For in front of that door, there is you
My death waits there among the leaves
In magicians' mysterious sleeves
Rabbits and dogs and the passing time
My death waits there among the flowers
Where the blackest shadow, blackest shadow cowers
Let's pick lilacs for the passing time
My death waits there in a double bed
Sails of oblivion at my head
So pull up the sheets against the passing time
But whatever lies behind the door
There is nothing much to do
Angel or devil, I don't care
For in front of that door, there is you 🎶 - Bowie 👩🎤
Bowie didnt write those lyrics, though . They were written by Mort Shuman based on the song La Mort by Jacque Brel
@@thisisobviouslynotmyrealname Oh. I had no idea. Thank you for telling me. Bowie sure brings this song to life.
Love David Bowie. Always have and always will.
Brilliant interview.
Let BRIAN ENO and others have a listen to those masking tracks and who knows?

I’m not sure about that , as Tony has played bass in a number of Bowie tribute shows in England.

I'm confused. Did she mean 20th century instead of 21th?

If you remember Angie was in U.K. and on “big brother” when she was told Bowie had passed away and her reaction was shown on TV. She didn’t know
Yes. Unbelieveable really
21st century or 20th century? 75 years left in the 21st century.
