Sally, I'm a 71 year old man who just came across this video and I am absolutely enamored with it and with you!! I didn't grow up in an environment that would lead me into reading at an early age but when I was 12, my aunt picked up three hardcover used books at a rummage sale and presented them to her son and me to read. They were all Hardy Boys mysteries and we each selected one to start reading and they were so satisfyingly good, that we were soon competing for who would finish first then be able to grab the other volume! I became an avid reader because of those books and recently started re-reading some of the original Hardy Boy books, mostly for perspective but I'm also enjoying memories of how I felt when first reading them!! I guess you can tell I'm old by this rambling "comment" but I feel a kindred connect.

why did this make cry 😭 the editing and they way you spoke about the books was just so DUEBFOFNELFBFIFBFJFJ (i know how to express emotions, as seen here). i was sobbing by the end
we didn’t really have books around the house when i was a kid so my favorite was one about the history of our town’s mayors 😎 (i’m not a regular kid i’m a cool kid)

I loved loved loved Each Little Bird That Sings--your descriptions are spot on. Other books that I adored were A Dog's Life by Ann M. Martin (I was blown away that someone could write a book in the perspective of a dog) and any Andrew Clements books. My parents read to me before bed all through elementary school and then still in middle and high school we would pull out a book to read the night before Christmas and the night before the first day of school.

I was obsessed with the Warriors series as a child and that's mainly what I remember reading. I also really loved Mrs Frisby and The Rats of NIMH, the Fairyland series, Inkheart...
