All the scene watchers should take only a part of human feelings. Not stay there and watch a as film. Just go and help somebody, who is obviously in trouble..
@Hakki as much as I appreciate the comment of yours. Which I very much agree with in general. What would you suggest doing here? Helping without endangering yourself? FYI the pilot is an experienced instructor literally pulling the strings of his huge tandem wing, nobody else can do this or anything else to improve the worsening situation once ‘blown away’. In the end he (luckily?) regains control to at least make a safe landing on the lee/ downwind-side of the mountain with his passenger unharmed. Just to give an example of how dangerously powerful a BIG tandem wing with such wind-force is: the girl trying to hold the wing down in the beginning, got her hand cut open by the brake-line snapping away when the wing forcefully freed itself! She was bleeding 🩸 pretty bad. Really, believe me there is sadly not much we could have done then to witness in amazement his overly confident stupidity. BTW, the pilot wás ill-advised to take-off by many multiple times but chose to try disregarding general safety rules. It was his responsibility controlling their fate. Which could have turned out much worse. grtz
Obviously it was a brain damaged pilot. It is hard to argue with such person. If you try to help and anything happens he will blame you. Only thing you can do is to tell the passenger that the conditions are extremely dangerous and he should leave. It requires strong person to do that and risk open conflict with pilot. Also mostly only pilots are aware of the danger.
@@RdashP I know this is old but I fully disagree that you see an experienced pilot. This guy has NO GROUNDHANDLING SKILLS and risks not only his but also the life of a passanger. The wind is to strong and if he would be a gould pilot he would do a cobra launch at the side of the wind window!!!!

Else this video wouldn’t have been made or only to showcase a perfectly normal and controlled tandem-flight, like most paragliding flights. To be allowed to fly in tandem with a vulnerable passenger strapped to your harnas, anyone must at least be a certified tandem-pilot. To become a certified tandem-pilot you must have successfully passed multiple exams and logged the required minimum hours before you are allowed to fly in tandem with another person. Such experienced (tandem-)pilots with these certified credentials and accompanying flight-time, would normally be considered “good pilots” and showcase totally different skills and judgement than this cowboy did. When flying solo, one should keep caution to wind and weather, and keep well inside of the personal and the aircraft's performance limits. When flying tandem, these rules should be applied even more strongly. After all, you have the responsibility for the life and health of the passenger who probably have no knowledge about what is going on. Pushing the limits are generally not a good idea in any kind of aviation.
They should take this guy's license away, if you make this decision in these circumstances you are not worthy of being a tandem pilot. Then you're just reckless!
That guy holding the tip was almost part of a trio flight haha sometimes people see others in the air but conditions can change by the time you clip in and take off. Luckily no one got thrown trying to hold on or lost any fingers!!

Mal ganz doof, ohne Ahnung vom Paragliding zu haben? Braucht es für TandemPiloten eine besondere Ausbildung? Und würde dann nicht eine besondere Vorsicht, sprich Garantenpflicht dem „mitfliegenden“ Gegenüber da sein oder muss dieser auch ausgebildet sein?
Braucht sogar ne recht Komplexe Ausbildung über 3 oder 4 verschiedene Scheine, bzw. Stufen bevor man Tandem in Deutschland fliegen darf. Das eigentlich Lernen und Meistern fängt allerdings erst nach Beendigung der Ausbildung an und dauert auch nochmal einige Jahre je nachdem wie Intensiv man es betreibt. Als Tandem Pilot sollte man dieses Hobby sehr Intensiv betreiben oder nur alleine Fliegen.
I think that person that would hold the pilot would fly away with him. The wind seems to be reallly strong. The best idea would have been to never take off ^^

I'd guess most of the observers are not pilots and therefore wouldn't have a clue what to do to help, or even realise that he's struggling.

Anchor-people ballasting the pilot can actually make things worse -- the wing is more heavily loaded and shoots faster, increasing risk for all.
