I used to sing this to my mom who was an abusive monster to me, who told me I was too sensitive. I said I'd like to stay that way. Now I'm free from her evil clutches and I am using my sensitivity to care for the environment. :) Thanks, Jewel, for the great song. :)

This album got me thru my teens in the 90s.
I can identify with this song because I have autism spectrum disorders and I'm sensitive about many things too with or without it. However, I'd like to stay that way too, autistic and don't aspire a cure, therapy, or services in regard to it or not. Whatever I'm sensitive about, I'd like to stay that way too. This song gives us the message to keep our characters intact, based on personality, identity, or condition.

Had my first real crush (like bigger than outer-space, ALL OF IT) right when I first heard this song....oh wow.. Listened to this song back-to-back,..to back etc..days in a row, alllll night long (after I snuck out to watch her softball games at 5p.m. Every Thursday. Soo infatuated,..hoping to catch her attention, and to find a way to let her know that I wanted to go walk away with her into the sunset and get married so we could be together For Ever and Ever.. Terra, if you're ever 13 again, and I was 14 again, a couple decades ago, take a chance and give a guy (who was a 5&1/2 outa 10, and was a 10 in pure innocence and intentions, (who later on grew up to be a solid 8.5 to 9, and a 3 in intentions) a solid run for his money. I'd give much to go back and try that 1 more time..(Far too shy to approach her and introduce myself)

I remember being a 12yr old boy, singing and crying to this song, feelings every word.. in 37 now, bitter and nasty. I don't know when it happened but I see it and i hate it. This song still hurts my angry aging heart
