Paik, like many great artists was an observer of the present rather than predictor of the future

He just predicted what was already inevitable, he showed the ability of technology and how far it can reach !

😐 *Most people look at a TV and see what it **_does_** . Paik looked and saw what it **_could do_** .*

This is an interesting way of introducing advanced vision of an artist. I almost thought it was a conspiracy theory video 😂

Thanks for the informative video. Just a correction, it's pronounced like BECK (usually spelt like Baek). Not pike, bike or pak (although Bak is also a last name usually spelt like Park). His name in Korean is 백남준 - if you do a search, you can find many native Korean pronounciations. Hope people will start saying his name properly in Western media...

Does anyone know where you can find all his essays or good clips of his video works?

He didn’t predict it. He discovered it

I want to show this to my students in Korea. Why are there no subtitles in Korean? Automated translations tend to be full of errors.

고 백남준작가가 티비와 바이올린을 사정없이 부셔버리는 퍼포먼스를 보고 서구 물질문명에 대한 회의감으로 봐라 봤었는데.. 원래 작가의 의도는 잘 모르겠지만요..

It’s an original composition by Paik, for his short film in the 1969 WGBH program The Medium is the Medium, titled Electronic Opera #1

Please, more analysis less hagiography. The electronic superhighway was not the concept of the internet.

Sorry but nothing here was predicted that was not already far in flight, interesting artist yes. Predictor of the future not so much
