    Amazing video. As a Bangladeshi kid, this was the first test series I ever saw in the TV. I was 6 years old back then and watched the Rawalapindi test at my uncle's house. My father was a staunch supporter of the Pakistan cricket team, my uncle a lifetime Team India supporter. I followed my uncle, much to my father's protest. I spent hours in front of the TV and observed the Dravid's 270 fortress in the making. The heat was intolerable as I saw buckets of sweat pouring when Dravid took off his helmet.
    Back then, the Bangladesh cricket team was a fledgling. So every Bangladeshi cricket watcher could be easily divided into 2 groups when it came to cricket fandom: India supporters or Pakistan supporters. Back then both teams had massive superstars in their arsenal, justifying their global support. I miss watching Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly. Laxman, Yuvraj, Pathan every time I sit in front of a screen to watch a test match. Cricket will forever miss this era.
    And shoutout to Balaji. I remember he was trolled throughout his whole career but in this series he was an effective performer. He was quite an entertainer with the bat too. I still remember his bat being broken in an ODI match.

  • @anirban37
    @anirban37 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    What a team Ganguly and John wright made 👏.. From a team injured heavily with rampant corruption and match fixing scandals ranking in no 8 in ICC rankings, they created a champion team that dominated and slowly rised in ICC rankings and started winning india and overseas..
    They won test in Australia, West Indies, England and wiped out that ‘0 overseas test wins’ record of Azhar and Sachin’s captaincy of last 11+ years..
    They created a team of such an impact that Indian cricket never looked behind from that era and started getting world class players there after..
    That team literally dominated that era and wiped out the ‘90s looser Indian cricket team’ image who surrendered, get whitewashed, sledged in every overseas tours and series

    In the case of Multan Test Rahul Dravid didn't expect Pakistan to collapse early enough to enforce a follow on, As Pakistan had capable batters like Inzamam Ul Haq, Yousuf Youhana, Younis Khan etc who could actually save the follow on that's the reason he declared when Sachin was on 194* Another story says that he did send a message to Sachin post lunch asking him to speed up his innings but when he noticed it wasn't happening he played the safer side and declared as there were more than enough runs on the board to win the Test Match. And secondly about your question at the end of the video this team was our greatest Test Side ever and the third best of the time after Australia and South Africa.
