I'm assuming this to be one of the last, if not the very last, of Rodrigo's compositions. It has, for me, what I can only describe as a stylised, dance-like quality to it. And yet there is plenty of percussion as well as a remarkable Pastoral which features some beautiful string playing. As I've said elsewhere, there is more to Rodrigo than the well-known Aranjuez Concerto......
