Ep 4 Srinagar to Pahalgam | Saffron Fields | Pampore”s Sheermal | Awantipur Ruins | Kashmir Tourism

- This was our 4th day in Kashmir. The video was shot on 20th April, we started from Srinagar to travel to Pahalgam.
The distance from Srinagar to Pahalgam is 90 km, tourists take halt at multiple locations, enroute to Pahalgam, we also did the same.
Pahalgam is a popular tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir, known for its scenic beauty and proximity to the picturesque Lidder Valley. The journey takes around 3 to 4 hours, depending on the traffic and road conditions.
Saffron Fields - As you drive through Pampore, you'll come across vast fields of saffron flowers. Pampore is renowned for its saffron production, and during the blooming season (usually in October), the fields create a stunning sight with vibrant colors.
Saffron at Pampore - we bought saffron fromJannat-e-Kashmir - This is one of the Dry fruit shops in Pampore, There are about 80 to 100 sellers there, who have their own farm.
During my tour I noticed that sellers of Pampore generally push you to buy 5 gm minimum saffron, Many buyers may want a lesser quantity.
Price at which I bought saffron from Pampore is Rs 250 per gm.
Sheermal in Pampore - During our visit, we wanted to see the making process of sheermal, which we saw in Pampore, one of the bakery shop named Hemalini sheermal house, we saw the process & also tasted to.
Awantipora Ruins - Situated in Awantipora, these ruins are remnants of ancient Hindu temples built during the 9th century. The site showcases impressive stone carvings and intricate architecture, offering insights into Kashmir's rich cultural heritage.
Dezire inn near Awantipora Ruins - In lunch we had Nadru Palak along with kashmiri Pulao.
Hallamulla - There are many factory & shop of Bat, we visited Good luck sports industries, they had wide variety of Tennis Ball bat to Professional bat made of Willow tree, which is found only in Kashmir. Price Range from Rs 300 to Rs 3500, many tourist stop by when they visit to pahalgam.
Hallamulla Sangam - There we saw the confluence of Vishav river & Jhelum river. This is about 50 km from Srinagar.
Evergreen Resort - We stop by to had tea, famous restaurant enroute to Pahalgam.
Dana Pani - This is a pure vegetarian restaurant in pahalgam, we had Kadai Paneer & Rajma for dinner.

I felt devastated to watch the ruins of Awantipur temple, Pampore's yields (Mamra Badam, saffron and special quality walnut) are pretty awesome. Green Nadru (even being too oily) and Kashmiri Pulao look super yummy. Pahalgam is so wonderful, I wish Kashmir should flourish like never before. Every Indian is proud of Kashmir for lush green nature, snow peaked mountains, supre tasty food and so humble people.
We will reconstruct this temple one day like Ram mandir

Pampore Kesar is there in our house also. We purchased it from a Kashmiri trader who had setup his Kashmiri product stall in an exhibition in Bangalore few months ago. Even he explained the same process to recognise proper Kesar. Now we are using pure kesar in our special dishes.

Brilliant episode, hats off to you Sir. The time you have spent in detailing is commendable and outstanding. Usually we just get to see an overall view with glimpses here and there. Saffron fields were amazing, also the ksheermal making process. Driver seems a cool guy who enjoys travelling and has cognisance of the interest of the traveller which is most important. Patience... Very interesting. We have willow tree in our garden here in Uk. My dad always told me cricket bats are made from it but I’ve never seen them being made or seasoned like you have shown in Kashmir. Amazing video. Thanks

It feels good to see you sir as you are exploring all India’s best states and their cultural touch, I will say you one thing please visit someday Sahibganj district of Jharkhand and it’s sub-division Rajmahal And Barharwa And enjoy the chamcham mithai and rashkadam mithai you will never forget to go again back and visit that place and yes please go in monsoon time because that city have jalebiya ghati and many water falls also from Sahibganj to rajmahal you will see the national waterway plan of GOI also the Ganga river there is turned from north to south for some mile one thing more this city Sahibganj Jharkhand have the only district from which Ganga is flowing.

Harishji you have shown Kashmir so well, the avantipur temple was beautiful but I hope they rebuild it, the saffron fields in pampore was beautiful to see and the person in that shop explained about mamra badam, walnut and saffron so well, also the bat factory is very good and the person so well about different types of bat's and prices also the hemamalini shermill was very nice , the person explained about the preparation so well, the jhelum and naruula joining was so good, overall you have explained so we and shown kashmir so well Harishji, admire you and your team for your hard work effort, interest.
