I realized that a teacher should have energy and patience when teaching. It is also critical that all activities match the characteristics of each learner. Lastly, establishing a connection and relationship with your students as a teacher is vital.

After watching this video, I realized that teaching young students can be difficult, but rewarding. Recognizing their characteristics can contribute to an effective classroom. It is also added here that activities and approaches are developmentally appropriate, such as using stories and games in class can help keep it interesting and exciting. Thank you for this informative video. I learned a lot.

I used to teach my mother’s godchild last summer, and I could say that teaching young learners is INDEED challenging compared to teaching students in high school. It was also draining since I needed to exert all my energy just to keep her attention. At the same time, I needed to make use of all the materials at home to make visually-appealing instructional aids. I am grateful that this video provided more strategies so that I can effectively teach young learners in the future.

Watching the video made me remember the time I was given the chance to teach grade 2 pupils during my work immersion during Grade 12. It was a tiring experience but I had fun since the children were very active and energetic. I remember playing a guessing game with them where they had to guess the actions their classmate was doing as an activity in teaching verbs and their past tense. Indeed, it is important that in young learners to be interested and pay attention, they have to be engaged in fun and interactive activities.

Through this video, I realized that the teacher-student relationship plays an essential role in effective learning. Appropriate planning and material making always start with knowing the learners' characteristics. Because of this, teachers should be able to assess the children's qualities and behaviors to provide developmentally appropriate activities for the class.

This video enlightened me on the different activities that respond to each characteristic of children. To establish this, I must learn first what are the characteristics of young learners and this video had taught me about them. I think this also links to the fact that a teacher must be able to know what the learners need before constructing any material. It should be developmentally appropriate.

I find this video helpful especially that I teach young learners every Wednesday in the Community Learning Hub. I can attest that all the mentioned characteristics are true especially the short attention span and kinesthetic because whenever I teach my tutee to read (although I am not really into young learners haha!), after a couple of minutes, she would like to just play a clay, draw, or just go around the four corners of the room and talk to her classmates. This video, indeed, gave me an idea of what activities I should give my tutee on Wednesday. Thank you, Sir!

The younger the learners the bigger the needed realia, or materials needed for the class. Unlike students who are more mature and aware, children can get distracted easily especially if lessons are boring. This video is a great reminder on what we need to understand about children and how us teachers can effectively plan and strategize when teaching them.

Every characteristic of a young learner mentioned in this video is legitimately relatable. I have little nephews who exhibit the same characteristics. Therefore, I realized that teachers should always consider young learners’ traits to be aware of the materials and activities that will be employed in the classroom. This explains why developmentally appropriate tasks are needed to foster effective learning.

I remember my cousins' children acting like this when they were younger, and I also remember my cousins complaining about how difficult it is to teach them or help them with their homework. After watching this video I learned that your teaching strategy should be appropriate, which means that when you teach you take into account the current level of young learners, as there are children who are curious and imaginative, learners who have short attention spans and learners who are kinesthetic in lesson preparation, they have one thing in common.

Indeed, children actually can't focus on one thing as they want to explore and learn as they've driven by their active minds and curiosity. so, teachers must plan and strategize how their student should take their focus on one task at a specific time. Through this, teachers will be able to build a good relationship with the learners that will allow them to effectively impart knowledge. Thanks for this video, Prof!

I once used to pick up my mom from her school and would sometimes help out during her last few minutes of class. I happened to be wearing a watch necklace and immediately the children were curious. The following day I was wearing a shirt with cats, and the next, I had been reading a book to a child before they were all gathered around me. I think it certainly does require a lot of energy, but it is indeed rewarding to see them so eager to learn about different things.

Teaching children is really hard work. It takes a lot of energy and patience to be able to handle their behavior. I taught third grade students during my SHS OJT, and they were very energetic. Most of them could not sit still and kept begging me for games. Honestly, it drained me, and I almost gave up. Since the classroom was field with diverse learners, I had to think of engaging activities every day. It was difficult at first, but I got the hang of it when I got to know them more. It's really important to know your learners and be knowledgeable about what they need and enjoy.

It's true that teaching young children can be difficult because of their short attention span. My neighbors have 2 children, 3 and 5 years old if I'm not mistaken. When I was playing with them, I tried teaching them the alphabet and other things, but they won't sit still so I had to catch their attention like, getting a toy then I would tell them I will give it to them if they answer my question. So, this video is helpful to me in teaching them.
