1930's London / 54 Real Magnificent Photos Colorized

London was black with soot in the 30’s, if you could see it at all for the smog. My grandfather said it was so thick that “you could slice it and sell it for a piece of cheese”. But this was a great metropolis built up over the centuries since the Great Fire of 1666 in grand and tasteful classicism, organically grown from many diverse sections which converged in to a massive whole; this had been the biggest city in the world at a certain point.
