I think I am in an area with many catastrophic events took place. I know the odds of finding one metorite is enormous nit I believe I could have found several in different varieties. It would honestly be a find of a lifetime for any collector and could benefit the scientific community. Would love to get in contact with you guys.
I find that most people think they found a meteorite when in fact they haven't. Your claim of having 50kg and 100+pcs (in another comment) is super duper hard to believe. Have ANY been classified?
@@TopherspinMeteorites I witnessed it fall in 2008...but didn't think much of it ..until I recently watched videos about meteorites..so I started collecting it from my backyard..I have also the fusion crust burnt..and nakhlite..also mashain red stones which are all magnetic..
@@TopherspinMeteorites I posted your link on fb..yes thank you.however I cannot cut up any rock..it's too heavy to lift.but from some broken pieces .can see diamonds
Would any of the members who own Mars or HEDs, please do Specific Gravity test. Read a paper,(Average Specific Gravity of Meteorites by Oliver C. Farrington), that mentions Mars as 5.3 and Jupiter 1.4. Trying to 'discover' the existence of Earth Meteorites, (early Earth Ejections). Since, I did not have 'glass beads', for my test, I used, 91% Isopropyl Alcohol(readings state more accurate, then H20).
Specific gravity test results for all classes of meteorites have been done and published on the web. I found my cheat sheet info on a scientific paper from a Google search. I don't plan on dunking my Mars in water ever. :-)
@@TopherspinMeteorites Never said water to test. Plus, if you say you, 'Want Knowledge', then you would test it, and ask others for those studies and numbers. And yes, most have, from Museum pieces. I am asking to futher our knowledge, with private pieces. What, I am trying to figure out, is if Mars, Sp. Gravity is 5.3, according to that paper. I can not find the Mars surveyors, Sp. Gravity readings.
Since meteorites is a wide and varied range of sciences, I have not had the opportunity to engage in all of them. The only specific gravity test I've done have included water displacement. I hope someone sees your comment and is able to get you the data that you were requesting. My channel exists for the purpose of disseminating information.
@@edwardm1497 keep thinking , make a model , whittle it or carve wax..eggact model will have an equal volume , equal is good- reliable - equlivent in all dimensions - divide mass by volume - refer to charts.specific graviety is very powerful ; it's an absolute test -but martain fieldstone is sadly a mix - don't multiply across an infirm varable...! Would you mind doing an Episode of 'Fusion Crust and the different stages', and 'Specific Gravities of our Rarest pieces'?
I have added these topics to my list - Thanks
