On the 11th of June 1940 a meeting between the British and French delegations was held at Général Weygand’s headquarters which had relocated to Briare from Paris. Weygand described the military situation, stating that there was no hope of halting the German drive on Paris or beyond - German troops entered Paris on June 14.
