    Hi,
    I'm a physiotherapist. It's a very good introduction about the reasons of tennis elbow. But i think, a another very important think it's a bad technique in the backhand cause by a bad grip and a bad position of the body during backhand mouvments.

      We have discovered that bad technique in the majority of shots can lead to injury!!

    Man - I watched this video like a few months too late. I used to play tennis and badminton growing up but stopped for 15 years. Just picked up Padel and got addicted instantly. Went from ZERO to like 4 competitive games a week. Now I developed tennis elbow ..... I cannot even open my water bottle without experiencing any pain now. I am resting the elbow and giving Padel a break for a few months. After it has recovered, I will do a lot of strengthening exercise and go easy. Thanks for this video!!

    Great vid! Would hexagrip or shock out antivibrators help with this?

    I already had tennis elbow 4 years ago because I'm a tennis player and 2 years bago I started play Padel, I changed my Racket for a Drop Shot Axion Attack and I started feeling my elbow different after my second or third game, however I don't have pain when I play. When I bought this racket I also put the Custom Nox grip and I think that might be it. What do you think? ANyway I already removed to see if I feel differences.

    I come from a tabletennis background. I played padel a few times to try,liked ot instantly and then did 3 times 1.5hr padel course in 1 week. After the 2nd session. i already felt some pain around the elbow. it got worse after the 3rd. Meanwhile a month later and still it's there when lifting even something small things in certain positions. I'm not used to the weight of the racket ofcourse (tabletennis blade is around 185gr). also in tabletennis, the wrist is working a lot to get as much spin on the ball as possible. I did some padel swings in front of the mirror and I think I preload the wrist and let it swing through. Of course there is no ball giving some counter force doing the movements in front of the mirror. When I try to lock the wrist,it seems impossible as the weight eventually forces the wrist to rotate. Aside what the pro players can do...is every stroke to be played with a locked wrist?

      It is locked to an extent...not forced locked though as there needs to be a little mobility - maybe you are squeezing the grip too hard too?

    I am a beginner and have had no strength training at all. I've played twice a week and one time I played three times a week. I think I use my wrist too much to compensate, but what do I know? The pain is more on top of the underarm, t of it, a few down from where the bend is. I will rest until Sunday but hopefully it will go away. Maybe a video for beginners on how to avoid this from happening? Warm up exercises, frequency in training, and basic basic technique when it comes to trying to avoid getting this pain started?

    Thanks for the video, I come from tennis and just start Padel and I don't want to stress too much my arm. I'm looking for a new Padel racquet. I tried different racquet but I think it was more for experienced player. I prefer starting with a lighter racquet more manoeuverable, comfortable and easy to play with. I'm looking forward to the next videos about off court exercises :-)

      Thanks Pierre, yes, you can start with a lighter racket (and probably softer too!)...its easy to say and more difficult to do, but if you can keep your swings compact, but not have tension in your arm then you should be fine...

    If the racket is top heavy it is much tuffer for your elbow

    • @ThePadelSchool
      @ThePadelSchool  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      True...you can get more power from that balance, but players should be aware it is more strain on the arm...
