W series known as hydrolic and M as electric locos
Do the same for s series as well
bunch of ancient rust buckets. We can't afford new modern ones. So proud.
But these rust buckets are better than newly imported indian locomotives
We have modern DMU's as well. These are old locomotives and this is a video abt our train history. The models at the start are no longer in use. To brings a new DMU it costs more than 200000000 rupees. So I think a better option is for us to make the investment and design and manufacture our own trains which will be far cheaper than importing brand new trains. However our government is too corrupt to do these kind of things so we can only hope or the future and be thankful for what we have.
@@k8rtedu95 true. Indian locomotives start rusting before they leave the factory.
@@damianxavier7343 designing and making trains is impossible in our country.
Agriculture is the only thing our country has focused on for centuries. Only thing we know is to grow, sell and eat.
Industrialization, technology and manufacturing are not going to happen in the foreseeable future. We are centuries behind those countries.
@@RR-us2kp we have the engineers to do it. recently the Colombo dockyard built a massive ship for Japan. Then the Sri lankan company Vega made an electric supercar and they are releasing an electric three wheel next year. I am sure we can build a train. Also we can always partner with other companies who have a wealth of experience in trian building. The only thing we need is the investment, which is ofcourse something our politicians will never do.
Super video 👍
Very informative. Thanks for uploading. One question.. what’s the difference between the M6 and the W series engines?
M6 is diesel electric
W series are diesel hydraulic
Many Sri lankans still lacking of neat, clean & tidy culture. All trains engines & compartment should have a uniform color or two. When ever the government changed, colors of trains, buses too changed. Even if its different colors still very dirty both internally & externally.
Yes train stations sud also be renovated.
A video on S Series coming soon... :)
Thank you for your comment. However all the necessary information are mentioned in the description. :)

Good work.! 👍
Alstom, GE and Hitachi can manufacture advanced locomotives, rail coaches and upgrade Sri Lanka's rail infrastructure.
W1 W2 diesel engine. M electric locos, use tracking motors coupled to wheels, powered by a generator
I could not see the power set of American Ceylon Friendship.

S13 should be added
S13 is a DMU. Not a locomotive.
this only loco . powerset separate
