When Barry says “bring the wind over the beam of the yacht“ surely he doesn’t mean that ? You want the boat head to wind for furling/unfurling!

Forward windlass not as easy as indicated. Needed a broom handle constantly to prevent chain balling up in chain locker. Design fault!
