Cried as a kid while watching the movie in the theatres. Crying now as an adult while watching a reaction video on the same film. This movie is a masterpiece.
What Nikumbh sir's painting meant: 1. Ishan is his masterpiece. 2. He made a smiling painting of Ishan. Ishan had forgotten to smile. Nikumbh sir returned the smile to Ishan that the world around him had taken away from him.
And the colours in his life. He is painted with all the positive colours(orange, yellow) that to around black. Doesn't that signify him being a breath of fresh air, him leaving all the darkness in the background and being joyful again Like he gets those colourful days in his life which are genuinely filled with happiness.
100% dude, and especially if you are good in art. I almost felt like the movie was based on me. My parents even thought im dyslexic. Thankfully my parents allowed me to pursue design.
I remember watching this some years after my breakdown in my teens, when life was coming into perspective little by little, thinking that I don't have to be like everyone. Took years for me not to be like everyone, and am fine with it now.
Darsheel has grown up so well. He spoke so well. Such meaningful reactions and explanations. Loved the episode. Has to be one of my favourite tanmay reacts of all time.

I am from Andhra Pradesh and we have " Taare Zameen par" movie as a Lesson in our Hindi text book. We all saw the movie in the school in our digital lab as well. This movie deserves to be taught .
Same here . But it was only showed for entertainment purposes in our school , otherwise teachers were rude and mean for weak students . No change in teacher's attitude and no change in classmates attitude came . They continued to be mean .
Two best scenes 1 when father cried watching his child trying hard to read the poster 2 when issan didn't take the prize and grab amir at last having the song in background
16:45 is basically when Ishan finally finds a solace and validation that he has been seeking. Coming to boarding school he felt alone and took it as a form of punishment and rejection from his parents. So he always remained depressed or stayed away from other forms of happiness. He missed his parents and that affection that the other teachers failed to provide him with. Aamir here on drawing Ishan just validated him and in this scene Ishan realises that there are people to take care and love him. He finally finds a place where he belongs. The tears are of overwhelming.
Ur opinion is very beautiful but actually this scene is very much open to interpretation so ya...... most people can think other beautiful thoughts like urs for this scene

I am a student myself and I am so inculcated in studies despite being decent at singing and having it as my passion for 10 straight year, couldnt even convince my parents to enroll myself. And now its too late. Every student I think can relate with this. As tanmay said this movie is full of emotions that cant be expressed in word and there is no denying in it.
17:01 Tanmay asks what the scene means. Tanmay the teacher has just painted his desire on the Canvas. He wants his students to be happy. He wants to see him smile, be content and blissful. Earlier he had instructed students to paint their inner most desires and longings on paper. Here that has happened. As both have artistic mind they can read the creative text and here is a moment of connection where the boy has seen someone understand and love him like his mother.
16:32 - the scene tanmay was talking about I feel the same. I don't how to explain it. I always get reminded of this quote from renee descartes ' I think therefore I am '. In this case it is a silent yet deafeningly loud acknowledgement by his teacher that 'ishan exists , that he is worthy ' . 'He thinks (imaginatively , uniquely from the lens of an artists) , therefore he is. '.

And Amole Gupte
We recently at FTII lost 2 dear friends, and collegemates to Suicide. We all are in severe shock and unable to emote anything. This helped. Thank you ❤️
The fact that i am 15 and still see this 24 yr old as a kid explains a lot about the impact of this film.
Darsheek such an eloquent speaker
Feeling nostalgic to see those beautiful moments again & at the same time being emotional remembering mom while I'm far away from home. 🤱💞
