    I have watched Bobby Clouser tie this fly several times while visiting him in Harrisburg, PA. Your patience and thorough explanation does his fly a great service. Nicely done, as are all of the instructional videos I’ve watched from you. Great job.

    This fly reminds me of the squirrel from Ice Age. I guess I watch too many cartoon movies with my grandkids I will have to try this one

    very well done! details exactly the same as Bob himself showed me how to tie this 10 or 11 years ago. Every detail has a purpose. Continues to amaze me that people continue to call every fly they put a set of dumbell eyes on "Clouser" when that's simply not the case. Good job- and excellent camera work.

    Really appreciated these tips, especially how to neatly tie in the buck tail. Just tied 5 and they look great. This pattern, in chartreuse and white, is my go-to pattern for east coast striper. They LOVE it. Thanks again for helping me improve!

    Great video, thanks for taking the time to really go in detail. It is incredibly helpful for me. What I think would make your videos even better is if you could go into detail about the action of the fly.

    Some people are good fly tiers, but bad videographers. Some are good with a camera, but not so much with the tying. You've brought it all together. This and your other videos are top shelf all the way, and I thank you!!
    One question: How do you determine the lightest eyes you can use (bead chain, for example) that will keep the fly swimming with the barb on top? I assume the weight of the hook bend and barb will greater than some small dumbell or beadchain eyes.

    • @Dr._Klopek
      @Dr._Klopek 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since buck tail is buoyant, having a larger clump in the top wing will keep it riding right regardless of type of eyes. I often tie them with medium bead chain eyes and have never had them invert

    Great video. Have you tried a clouser for trout? What type of vise do you use?

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mike Keown I have tried them and they work quite well. You do have to be very careful when casting, an impact between the dumbbell eyes of a Clouser and a thin walled graphite fly rod usually doesn't end well. The vise is a Dyna-King Ultimate Indexer.

      What's your question?

    • @dgs.creates
      @dgs.creates 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tightlinevideo I'm fairly new to tying and noticed in this video, and in my tying in general, that sometimes materials will favor one side of the fly. Does that affect how the fly behaves in the water? Thank you for taking the time to reply. I really enjoy your videos.

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@dgs.creates Yes it does. If materials are not place correctly on the hook, the fly will not track correctly when fished. The idea with a streamer like this is to have it track vertically just like the baitfish it is supposed to imitate. In regards to not answering questions, I answer between 30 and 40 almost every day. With 671 videos and 102 thousand subscribers there are lots of questions and comments. I do what I can.
