    I am so tired of all of the RCMP "interpretations" of the firearms act, I have joined the class action against this. It also frustrates me so much that more Canadians are not completely outraged that the RCMP is by defult making "laws" in Canada without any parliamentary oversight at all. When this happens it is called a Dictatorship people, Wake up Canada. The firearms community also needs a much stronger response, it has been to weak out of the gate. We need a US NRA type response. We have no right to own firearms in Canada, but all people have a "human right" to protection of life and protection from government. Firearms ownership is a basic Human Right. A Para Military group is making laws in a "democratic" Country............wake up Canada..........step one: confiscate arms, Step two: remove political opposition................Basic plan of Adolf Hitler and every dictator for the past 200 years.

    Well said Rod. I think I made a point in another of your videos about how the government is being allowed to set a dangerous precedent. Unfortunately these attempts are going largely unnoticed, until recently with the tabling of Bill C-21. I really think we need to wake up as a country, and realize that these behaviors that now pertain to firearm ownership can and will affect Canadians in other places too. The best way to fight back, is to be educated.

    Further, Canada has three branches J.E.L. (Judicial, Executive, Legislative) Judicial, Judges, Police. If you break the law, they enforce it. Executive, they run the day to day, budgets, roads, all the fun stuff. Legislative, they're the law-makers. They sit, decide, arbitrate, and posit that something needs changing, so they start the ball rolling,
    In the US, they have something similar, but there's scandals, double-dealings and odd mishaps because you can have someone sit in both parts, and thus, a Legislative Judicially interested party might say something like, "A new law goes into effect that you must handcuff inebriated people when you are dealing with them, AND, we also make it required that this new brand of handcuff be used at all our police stations" You can potentially see where someone slipped this guy some cash to make this happen.
    Canada knows that a double-seated individual could spell trouble and thus we have laws against it, and the RCMP is trying to work around this, by appointing an "RCMP approved body, that makes laws" Well, hold up there Tex, doesn't that mean that our Judicial just created a law-making branch? Like, really back up Tex, that's actually against the rules here. So, let's see if we can not only get the RCMP to reverse, but completely tear apart their appointed law making unit on guns and get someone yards and MILES from any affiliation with a Judicial branch.
    Thanks for sticking with the long-windedness, but this steams me and I'm not even a PAL Holder. I'm afraid to, I may become a criminal overnight! ((Like those Swiss Arms Rifles))

    An example of RCMP doing the same thing, I saw stun batons for sale at the TAACOM show last September. They had a lot of them for sale there at one seller. I should have gotten one at the show. I called yesterday the actual store who had this for sale at the show and they told me that, though not illegal, the RCMP decided that they would not allow them any longer in the country. Like... WHAT?!?!? So, they are acting in the exact same way. They need to be stopped.

I would think that the Courts would be EXTREMELY INTERESTED in the RCMP "Interpreting" & making up the LAWS - RULES & REGULATIONS surrounding Firearms when their job is to explicitly enforce the LAW - RULES & REGULATIONS, not interpret it, not rewrite it, & definitely not make it. Nothing short of EGREGIOUS.

    for the small amount of charger pistols in Canada, let's have Ruger recall them and change the mag release to have a little tab so nothing but the 10 round mags will fit.. problem with RCMP solved.. but as the Magazines were designed to fit a rifle. technically you can use in the charger pistol and enjoy 10+ rounds of fire.. Because actual Law reads and has examples : if a magazine from another firearm fits it is not limited.. ie:pistol mags in rifles, 9mm in .40cal, 25round rim fire rifle .. last one exists on RCMP site,but they try to say Ruger mags are exception. Law states only matters what Mag was originally DESIGNED and (not "or") manufactured for.. not what it fits, and.. so law states we can enjoy 10+ cartridges in the Charger pistol when using Rifle magazines by definition of the law (I do not own a Charger)

    So if I were to be in possession of these mags how would I dispose of them?
    Is there a amnesty or even a disposal program?
    Also what's the legality of this prohibition its my understanding that a new 22 pistol was released in Canada that's why the rcmp made it illegal because the pistol can take the same 10+ round magazine as the 10/22 but the law states that the 10+ magazine cannot be designed around a pistol but this magazine was designed for the 10/22.
    Also any word on how the class action law suit is doing

    To all-why don't we just petition Ruger to stop selling the Charger 10/22 hand gun in Canada? I would bet that their sales of the 25 round mag outsell this relatively unknown handgun. That way we could show to the RCMP that the gun in question is not sold in Canada. Could this no lift the ban then on the 25 round mag? Just a simple thought as I am a 10/22 enthusiast as well.

    I SUPPORT MOST GUN CONTROL LAWS, but as an american, i want to say something to gun enthusiasts in the usa reading this, you were right, and i apologize, i still support stricter laws but you make a good point, liberals and gun control advcates are often deceptive they say they support reasonable laws and then they make them they dont work and they take more, i think canadian gun laws do work, albiet not in the absolute sense they reduce gun violence they don not eliminate it, i beleive laws should balance liberty and safety for example italy and the czech rep have both low crime rates and fairly unrestrictive gun laws a law abiding person can one guns if they are willing to go through some lightly onerous regualtion, candas new gun laws are over reach and an example of what gun enthusiasts in the usa point to for the reason to oppose any regulation, give them and ince they take a mile, i doubt these new laws will reduce crime even a little and they are violations of civil liberties and traditional gun privileges extended to law abiding ctizens , i see your point i neither agree with the gun ownership extreme or the gun restriction extreme, i advocate for reasonable laws, but liberals who dont sem to even understand laws or how they work or dont work function on emotion or virtue signals not logic or pragmatism it makes me sad, and i do concede you were right
    you give an inch they take a mile.. this is not right even i wil concede that, you proved your point.. if i lived in canda i would vote ndp or maybe even consevative, the liberals have lost me on this this is over reach pure and simple, and an exmple of hows stupid allegedly smart people are when they are in a position of power and thenk with their emotions and not with their head

      I don't want everyday Canadians shelling out $60,000 to take the RCMP to court every time they misbehave. I'd like this video to go everywhere and the Minister of Public Safety to re-task the RCMP to harassing criminals. This is as it should be.

    • @scumhunter1966
      @scumhunter1966 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, not every time. ONE TIME. You take one case and you defend your point and you appeal all the way to the SCoC. Which is how this has been done historically with other laws that are either wrong, unconstitutional or have been interpreted/enforced incorrectly.
      Parliament writes the laws.
      The RCMP enforces the laws.
      The courts interpret the laws.
      That's how the system has operated for nearly 150 years now. FWIW I think you have good point and I fully believe you should be able to successfully challenge how the RCMP is interpreting/enforcing this law. Remember, once you fight this and win, the RCMP can NEVER enforce or interpret the law in that way again as precedent will have been set and if they continue to do so they themselves would be in violation of law.

    It's hard to fight back when the lawmakers arent on your side. We get background checked daily and still face arbitrary detainment because the police refuse to stand up and take the actual criminals off the street. So when they shoot up the town, all of a sudden it's the gun's fault, notwistanding that they had no business having a gun in the first place. So many gun owners and I bet few are asking their MPs about their view on guns. It's time we stand together and demand the police harass the criminals and not the most law abiding among us

  • @froodefroo
    @froodefroo 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    thinly veiled repercussions for the ar-15 petition i expect. police creating and enforcing their own laws sounds like a fairly slippery slope, and a precedent the federal government should not allow, regardless of its prior support of the RCMP in firearm legislative matters.
    personally i cut my 25 round mag down and limited it to 10 rounds and glued/shaped part of a CD case over the hole, luckily the spring is at the top unlike conventional magazines. still an unnecessary law in my opinion, if they ever fired a non factory mag they'd know it would take a miracle to get through the entire magazine.

    • @skd501
      @skd501 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The CSSA has recommended not using the mags until the court has made a determination about the court challenge working its way through the snail paced court system. Also only approved gunsmiths are authorized to pin mags, so if you altered one to only hold ten cartridges, that is irrellevant, you are still in possession of a prohibited device.

    I'm not pro-gun by any stretch but retroactively reinterpreting a law without legal precedent will probably have this end up in court in short order. I feel bad for people who are caught off guard by this change and get a criminal record for it. it will have lasting consequences for the rest of their lives. If it's to be reclassified in this manner there needs to be a large public campaign to notify people and an amnesty periods to surrender them without fear of prosecution. I'm OK with them being banned but let's do it fairly.
    As an addendum, I did some reading about the ban. The reason it's come about is because the design of the now illegal clip fits into semi automatic hand guns. such guns are limited to a 10 Rd clip. The clip should be redesigned to prevent it from interfacing with the affected handgun, either that send out a retrofit kit to allow owners to safely bring Thier magazine into compliance. We can thank the bad apples in our world for the RCMP enforcing this change as I'm sure they have had the modified hand guns used against them.

      Although I dont agree with your beliefs on this issue (or likely others as I am 100% pro gun)I like that you are subscribed to a channel you dont agree with and respectfully share your opinion. The reality is even if an RCMP had this used against them (which is just theory) it doesn't follow it should be banned. A dedicated criminal who wanted to fire more than 10 shots at police could easily swap out a few 10 clips in a comporable amount of time. Terrorists are running over people with trucks but trucks are not banned. Anyways I appreciate your weighing in.

      Roger Pilon well that's good news. I could see it as a preventative measure still but as others have pointed out most of the bad guys are gonna use bigger guns anyways. It's kind of a mixed feeling I having family who hunts the way it's been explained to me large capacity magazines are kinda weird except for a few use cases ie hunting gophers. namely it was explained to me that if you miss the first or second shot the animal will usually bolt so being able to fire 25 rounds isn't really needed. But I can see the utility of it in some cases. I still think it's kinda shady the way it's being enforced though, that's my problem with it.

      Nothing positive with firearms will happen as long as Trudeau is in power unfortunately, our best hope is to have the OIC either reversed or revised and return to how it used to be.

    the 10 round in the ruger 10/22 is the stander magazines. ruger only make 10 round or 30 round magizens for the 10/22. this is tyrany.

    I was hoping for a professional opinion but I hate to say this video leaves viewers uninformed as to the reasoning behind prohibiting the 10/22 magazines. The reasoning behind it is that there is a pistol that is capable of taking the 10/22 mags, and as everyone here knows, in Canada handguns are restricted to 10 rounds. In my personal opinion they should have prohibited the pistol and not the magazines as the pistol is much more uncommon than the 10/22.

    Well Ruger opened a can of worms when it made it's magazines interchangeable between rifle and pistol
    And I would argue against calling a .22 "low power"
    Those stingers are hitting 1700ft/sec
    So...no that's not 3000ft/sec
    But at 10m....it's plenty
    That said...we've got multi-shot air rifles that are hitting 1200fps
    And those are not even "firearms"
    (Yet)
    The more you try to engineer your way out of a human problem the tighter you seem to pull that Gordian Knot

  • @notlikely4468
    @notlikely4468 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well...35 years ago...you might be able to claim a .22LR was "low powered"
    But have you looked at the "hyper-velocity" .22LR rounds on the market now
    Those are breaking 1500ft/sec
    (Ok...that's still only 1/2 of a .223)
    But...if I were to select a firearm to shoot up a school
    I'd go with a .22 semi
    At...less than 5M...there's plenty of energy for human targets
    No slipping on brass and falling on your ass
    You can carry a huge amount of ammo
    And you'll probably be able to hear the cops kicking in doors as they start to look for you
    Point is....how and when do you adapt firearm legislation to changes?
    And don't the 10/22 mags fit in Ruger pistols?
    If so (not my platform)...now you've got a legal 30round pistol mag
    Now...should the RCMP be making unilateral laws?
    You won't get an argument in favour of that from me
    But should legislation be able to respond to changes in technology
    Ya...I think it should
    But...how?
    I wish I was that smart

    Ruger 10/22 fires at 1200 rounds a minute. Of no use to a marksman or a hunter. It's a gun for a cowboys and zombie apocalypse believers in other words the people you DON'T want to have a gun. A gun that even with cheap 22 ammo is expensive to shoot. So what happens to these guns when the thrill goes away as the credit card statements come in the mail? They're left in the garage or a closet to be forgotten until your kid finds it and plays with it. Or your home is broken into and it's stolen or that bored gun owner sells it for a couple of bucks in a bar one night. And then it's on the streets. As Canadians we have a choice. We can find a workable solution for everyone or we can continue with obstructionist language and follow the American road to perdition.
    I therefore challenge the CCFR to come forth with innovative ideas and solutions.

      @Based Canadian You're a fool because you keep coming back for more. A true gun enthusiast would not have been baited into this conversation. You're a cowboy that should never be near a gun because you let your emotions and personal biases guide you. You're a hot head that can't control your emotions and wants to pick an argument. You are one of those irresponsible gun owners that ruin the sport for everyone else. If you ever wonder why so many draconian gun laws are instituted in Canada then look in a mirror because you are the problem.
      I have no problem with owning a gun - I just have a problem with you owning one.
